Suntell SpreadIQTM
We continue to evolve Square 1 Credit Suite to better support modern credit workflows. As part of that evolution, we are introducing Suntell SpreadIQTM, a new AI-driven financial spreading capability designed to reduce manual data entry while preserving analyst review and control.
You may have previously known this capability as SET Reader. As it has grown beyond basic document reading into something much more intelligent, it was time for the name to better reflect what it does today and where it is going.
In the first release of 2026, customers currently using SET Reader will see this update reflected directly in the product, including the new SpreadIQ name and an improved workflow. No action is required, and existing configurations will carry forward as part of this transition. SpreadIQ uses artificial intelligence to interpret tax forms and associated schedules and automatically populate values into your spread. The goal is to significantly reduce manual data entry so analysts can spend less time typing and more time reviewing and analyzing, without giving up control.
SpreadIQ is powered by Suntell AnalystIQTM, Suntell’s AI intelligence layer within Square 1 Credit Suite. AnalystIQ is the AI capability that interprets documents and supports spreading workflows, using Suntellmanaged AI models. Each institution’s data is handled in isolation and is not used to train shared or third-party models. All outputs remain fully reviewable, with analysts retaining final control.
This first release of SpreadIQ focuses exclusively on tax forms and related schedules. It is designed to deliver fast, consistent first-pass population, with analysts validating results and handling edge cases rather than re-keying entire spreads.
What’s coming next
Support for prepared financial statements is already in development and planned as a future phase of SpreadIQ. As always, this will be rolled out thoughtfully, with transparency, accuracy, and control as top priorities.
What this means for you
• No disruption to existing workflows
• No loss of analyst control or review
• A clearer, more future-ready foundation for AI-driven credit analysis This update represents an important step in how we continue to modernize credit workflows in a responsible and practical way.
What’s Ahead at Suntell: Our Focus for the Next 12 Months
At Suntell, we work with banks and credit unions supporting commercial and member business lending in complex, regulated environments. Our roadmap is shaped by real-world workflows and focused on helping credit teams work more efficiently, improve output quality, and reduce operational friction.
While we maintain a longer-term internal roadmap, we believe it is most appropriate to share our plans on a 12-month horizon. Priorities can evolve based on regulatory change, market conditions, and customer feedback. Customers interested in discussing our longerrange direction are always welcome to have those conversations with us privately.
What We’re Focused On This Year
Over the coming year, customers will see progress across several key areas:
• Suntell SpreadIQTM expansion, including support for prepared financial statements to further streamline financial analysis and review workflows
• Human-language reporting and narrative generation for Loan Presentation and Credit Analysis, designed to assist with drafting descriptive content while keeping users fully in control
• Loan Presentation usability improvements, including user-controlled page breaks for better formatting and presentation
• SDI refresh, laying the foundation for long-awaited enhancements and more efficient future delivery
• Portal expansion, streamlining and automating integration between the Portal, document tracking, and SDI
• Automatic update delivery, enabling faster enhancements while reducing burden on internal IT teams
• Introduction of an effective usage report, based on non-private system usage metadata, to support more meaningful conversations around adoption, optimization, and return on investment These initiatives are designed to reduce manual effort, improve clarity and consistency, and support stronger outcomes across the credit lifecycle, without replacing human judgment or established credit processes.
This is not an all-inclusive list. Our roadmap continues to evolve, and we encourage customers to reach out to their Suntell team for personalized conversations about what’s coming and how it aligns with their specific goals.
Section 1071: Current Status and What
We’re Monitoring
Many banks and credit unions have asked about the status of Section 1071 and how it may impact small business lending processes. Given ongoing rulemaking and litigation, we wanted to share what is known today and how we are thinking about it.
Section 1071 applies to certain small business credit applications. Applicability is institution-specific and depends on factors such as origination activity and product mix.
In November 2025, the CFPB issued an amended proposed rule, which has not been finalized. As proposed today, the rule would:
• Establish January 1, 2028 as the start of data collection
• Measure applicability based on 1,000 covered small business credit originations per year, for two consecutive years
• Modify the scope of covered transactions and required data elements
Because the rule remains proposed, institutions would ultimately need to assess applicability based on finalized guidance and their own lending activity.
From a product perspective, Suntell is actively monitoring the rulemaking process and engaging with customers to understand potential impact. If Section 1071 is finalized and becomes relevant for a meaningful portion of our customer base, we are prepared to support compliant workflows, including borrower-submitted data collection and appropriate separation between data collection and credit decisioning. We will monitor developments as they relate to our platform and customer needs.
