Thriving on the extreme Mount Maunganui extreme sports athlete Flynn Chisholm has broken the New Zealand 24-hour pull-up record after completing an astonishing 4110 pull-ups about 10 hours early. The 21-year-old surpassed the previous

record of 4035 pull-ups after 14 hours and 25 minutes before battling cramping and fatigue to push even further. The challenge began 11am on May 9 and continued through the night with support from family and friends.

Chisholm, who is also an elite speed climber and international death diver, said he thrives on extreme physical challenges. The latest achievement adds to a remarkable sporting resume that already included breaking the New Zealand and Oceania

death diving record in Spain last year. Chisholm said his Christian faith plays a major role in his sport and mindset. See page 10 for the full story on Chisholm’s gruelling world-class effort and what challenge he plans to tackle next. Photo / Kelly O’Hara
