Time to ride Tauranga’s edition of the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride is on next month – and will happen the same day globally – on May 17. Hence, co-organiser of the Tauranga ride, Darren Leggatt, is putting the call out to all Bay of Plenty bikies that it’s time to register
to ride! He wants riders and spectators alike to get involved in one of the world’s most stylish charity motorcycle events – the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride. The ride raises funds and awareness for men’s mental health – suicide prevention and prostate cancer research – by
participants registering online with a $15 donation prior to the event. Riders are encouraged to raise further funds for the cause beforehand the event too. The ride itself is a visual spectacle, with riders often seen in tweed suits, silk vests and bow ties on wheels from vintage
machines to modern classics – including scooters and sidecars. “It’s about getting out there, looking sharp, and supporting something that really matters,” Leggatt said. Find out more on page 10. Photo / Kelly O’Hara
