Fun with a purpose Families across Tauranga Moana are invited to the White Ribbon Family Day at Anzac Park, Gate Pā, on Saturday, November 22, from 10am-2pm. This free event celebrates community, fun and family togetherness while sharing an important message – to end violence

towards women and children. Enjoy live music, food, face painting, plus a bouncy castle, and more, plus a kapa haka performance by Te Ara o Tawhaki o te Kapa Haka. “White Ribbon Day is a vital reminder that

family violence affects people from all walks of life,” said Family Works Bay of Plenty area manager Julie Peake. “By coming together as a community, we can raise awareness and show support for those affected by violence.”

Organised by Family Works with local partners, the day highlights unity, respect and support for safer, stronger families. Francisco Salustio, Harpinder Kaur and Ani Coker, pictured, say everyone is welcome at the event. Read more on page 9. Photo / David Hall
