Frock on! Waihi Beach’s ‘Frocks on Bikes’ finally returns to the beautiful coastal town after two years! Held on Saturday, January 28, the event attracts hundreds of people all keen to put a frock on and enjoy a bike ride around Waihi Beach. Event co-ordinator Tee Carroll – pictured here with Mrs
Velocity Pettigrew on the left – gives a word from the wise when getting on your wheels. “Tuck your dress into your knickers or into your shorts because you might get it caught in the back wheel and fall off!” There will be the option of a cruisy 5km cycle route or a 10km and 15km route for
bikers that mean business. After Covid-19 stuck a spoke in the wheels of this frock-filled fun event for the past two years, Tee is delighted to see people back on their bikes. “I’m looking forward to seeing people enjoy themselves again… there’s lots of laughter.” Read more on page 10.
