NEWS Hanging up the clippers

Wayne Reid has dealt with many of Te Puke’s heads during the last 54 years. In fact, he’s now cutting hair of the third or fourth generation of some of the district’s families. But the barber who first picked up the

clippers in 1971 at age 17 – and has been tending to Te Puke’s hair since then – is about to put them down for good. He will trim his last head of hair on Christmas Eve as he finally hangs up his clippers, comb and scissors.
