Principal bows out Craig Haggo has retired as principal of Pongakawa School after 25 years, following his doctor’s advice to prioritise his health. Initially reluctant to become a teacher – and later to retire – Haggo said both decisions were influenced by people he trusted.

originally intended to stay another year. Despite still loving the school and feeling effective in his role, a recent overseas trip revealed how exhausted he was. Even after taking a break earlier this year, the fatigue persisted. Haggo acknowledged
