Reflecting on 65 years Michael Jones, Te Puke’s former town crier and theatre stalwart, is back in the spotlight. This July, he returns to the director’s chair for his 11th major production, the riotous comedy ‘Call Girls’
by NZ playwright James Carrick. “It’s a brilliant, uplifting story set in a small retirement home that’s under threat from a developer and a burgeoning bureaucracy. But the women who live there use their
wit and cunning to fight back.” Jones said. Despite 65 years of theatre experience, key roles in the kiwifruit industry, and a colourful history in local politics and promotions, Jones remains low-key: “I’m
just a Te Puke boy”. ‘Call Girls’ runs July 15-26 at Litt Park Theatre. Tickets are selling fast – don’t miss out on a night of classic Te Puke entertainment! Read more on page 4. Photo / David Hall
OUR EXPERIENCED STAFF CAN HELP YOU SELECT THE PERFECT FRAME FIT Important considerations are: Face shape harmony: Oval faces suit most styles, while angular frames flatter round faces, and round frames can soften angular features. Proper sizing: The frame width should match the width of your face. Your eyes should be centered in the lenses - not too close to the bridge or edges. Bridge fit: The bridge should sit snugly without pinching your nose or sliding down.
