Keeping legacies alive Not all people turn up to Anzac Day services with big smiles. But Katikati College head students Coby Taylor and Mitchell Preston, pictured, did. The pair were happy and honoured to
share their messages of showing gratitude and embracing freedom to recognise the efforts of those who fought in past battles around the globe. They were also proud to share their
personal family stories of their links to the world wars and how their relatives served in different ways but both at great risk. Their contrasting links to war showed in the fact that one relative came home to tell his own
story, while another did not. “Every family has their story to tell and it is our duty to carry on their legacies to show our gratitude for their service,” Taylor said. Read more on page 3. Photo / Merle Cave
