Easter bonnet extravaganza! Autumn is here Katikati, and the local Lions club wants the community to enter their new inaugural event for Easter! Katikati Lions Club is hosting its first Easter Bonnet Extravaganza on April 4 – and invites people of all ages to get busy creating the most outrageous
designs they can dream up! “Right now we need more people – from youngsters through to adults – to register for the competition. We want to see as many bonnets as possible created and entered,” said Katikati Lioness and event organiser Jo Hurne, pictured.
The competition is open to all, with three categories. The Little Bunnies is for children aged 10 and under. First place wins $50, second $30 and third $20. Creative Teens is for youth aged 11-17, with a single first prize of $200 up for grabs. For adults aged 18-plus there’s the
Master Makers category, with the winner taking home $300. Lastly, the Katikati Lions Supreme Award – which any category entrant can win – has a cash prize of $400. Find out how to enter on page 5. Photo / Merle Cave
