Avo fest gets thumbs up The smiles and thumbs say it all. Yes, 2026’s Katikati Avo Fest at the Uretara Domain on Saturday got thousands vibing to the sounds, sights and tastes of summer. Katikati put on its usual spectacular day of sun-filled weather for the festival, which saw people from near and far enjoy live music, luscious food and beverages and

entertainment from noon to 6pm. “Each of the four acts captivated the crowd, creating an unforgettable musical journey. of the event’s organising team. Festival kaitiaki (guardians) Katikati Fun Fest Charitable Trust chair Trevor Burgess said the event could not be hosted without sponsors’ support. “We sincerely appreciate everyone who joined us, and extend special thanks to our sponsors and the Western Bay of Plenty District Council for their

continued support.” A special thanks was also given to volunteers who helped out on the day, from various community local groups.
