Going for gold! Most people would be buzzing if they’d won a gold medal at an international tournament in their favoured sport. Katikati’s Suraj Singh, who took first place in the Under-61kg freestyle division
of 2025’s Southeast Asian & Invitation Wrestling Championship this month, was relatively unfazed. That’s because his latest win was just another step towards to his dream.
The 26-year-old, who has been wrestling since the age 12, wants to represent New Zealand at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. “That’s the ultimate goal,” said the kiwifruit grower who admitted
