Cooking on a budget ‘Food prices increase’ or ‘Cost of living on the rise’. These are headlines we have all consumed recently. But the daily challenge of putting a
meal on the table doesn’t have to be a chore. A new course is being launched in Katikati aimed at teaching people who to
cook on a budget. Kura Kai community co-ordinator Megan Branks, pictured, ho will take the classes, said the course will look at smart
shopping using seasonal produce, meal planning, recipes, easy cooking techniques and tips and tricks to save on ingredients.
“The idea is to learn to use produce multiple ways – to take one thing and turn it into three different dishes.” Read more on page 3.
