Purposefully made B

espoke Living transforms visions into bespoke creations that redefine spaces. The company embraces a philosophy of innovation, functionality and an unwavering commitment to detail, ensuring that every design is as purposeful as it is beautiful.

Over the years since the business started, Bespoke Living’s client base, staff complement and factory have grown significantly, and the company attributes this to the professional, precise and unique experience it creates for each client. From industry professionals to individuals, Bespoke Living can assist with your local or international projects.

MADE FOR YOU

Since Bespoke Living’s inception, Marc van Rooyen and Daniel Willemse have taken the time to hire only the best craftspeople, ensuring a team of experienced best-in-their-field artisans who create only the best pieces for the company’s clients.

Whether busy with a striking dining room table or a server for a private home, Bespoke Living can also manufacture furniture to fit out a hospitality project. Manufacturing one-off orders or multiple bulk orders simultaneously is no problem for the Bespoke Living factory.

INTENTIONAL AND HANDS-ON

Bespoke Living enjoys a light-hearted yet professional approach to its work. Due to starting small, Marc and Daniel have invested time and effort in all their client relationships. Their hands-on approach and presence in the factory allow the client’s wishes to be directly communicated to the artisans undertaking the work.

PUTTING CLIENTS FIRST

Clients are always welcome to visit and check on the progress of their orders. Bespoke Living walks beside each client every step of the way and commits to every job until the client is completely happy. No job or client is too big or too small. Bespoke Living is in the business of transforming your visions into reality, with specialised services including upholstery, furniture manufacturing, cabinetry and custom-designed kitchens.

Furniture traps

Award-winning designer Vinette Diab-Nicholls from GIAVA INTERIORS shares five pitfalls to avoid when buying bespoke furniture

These valuable pointers can mean the difference between investing in a timeless heirloom or a very expensive lesson:

1. Confusing “bespoke” with “customised” True bespoke furniture is designed from the ground up for you: proportions, materials, finishes and construction methods. Always ask whether the piece is being fully designed or merely adapted – the distinction matters.

2. Choosing aesthetics over construction

A piece can look exquisite in a showroom yet fail structurally over time. Luxury furniture must be beautiful and engineered to last. Ask about internal frameworks, joinery techniques and suspension systems.

3. Not interrogating material provenance High-end furniture is defined by the quality of its materials.

Imported veneers, leathers and fabrics vary enormously in grade, and not all suppliers are equal. Don’t be shy to ask where materials are sourced, and how they will age.

4. Underestimating lead times and logistics

Bespoke furniture takes time, but vague timelines are unacceptable. Ensure lead times are realistic and written into contracts. Also make sure you confirm who is responsible for delivery, installation and aftercare.

5. Choosing price over quality

If cost becomes the sole deciding factor, corners will inevitably be cut: in materials, craftsmanship or service. The right partner will guide you to find the right balance while protecting the integrity of the piece. Quality bespoke pieces transcend trend and time. They become a quiet, powerful signature of how you choose to live.
