2025 Suncoast Credit Union Annual Report: Building Momentum - Growing With Purpose

Page 1

GROWING WITH PURPOSE

Committed to our members, rooted in our community.

CHAIRMAN & PRESIDENT/CEO LETTER FROM THE

Dear Suncoast Credit Union Members,

Building momentum isn’t just about numbers. At Suncoast Credit Union, we’re building momentum by growing alongside you - our members - by listening to your needs and showing up with purpose to help you every day. Growing with a purpose ensures our progress provides benefits in tangible ways not only to Suncoast and its members, but also the people and communities we serve all over Florida.

In 2025, the energy and the forward momentum were evident across every area of our organization. Suncoast demonstrated strong financial performance, ending the year with $19.8 billion in assets. Our continued growth enabled us to help you achieve important milestones, including buying homes and purchasing vehicles, resulting in a record $8.2 billion in loan originations. At the same time, our competitive returns on deposits made saving easier for our members, leading to an overall deposit balance increase of 9.7% last year.

As we continue to build on our momentum, we remain steadfast in our most important aspect: The member experience. As our members, you deserve exceptional service, and Suncoast employees bring care, commitment, and purpose to every interaction. That focus led to finishing 2025 with a satisfaction rating of 82.8%, a measure based on how likely our members are to recommend Suncoast to others. This high score reflects the trust you place in us and the strong relationships we continue to build.

Our continued progress enabled us to expand our influence beyond financial services. As the organization grew, we were pleased to increase the donation amount through our Pennies Add Up program. Now, with each use of a Suncoast credit or debit card, four cents is donated to the Suncoast Credit Union Foundation. This enhancement resulted in $6.4 million in donations in 2025, directly benefiting children and families across our local communities.

Our strong financial position allowed us to reinvest directly back into our membership through competitive rates, low fees, and thoughtfully designed products that support long-term financial well-being. Whether members are building something new, navigating change, or planning what’s next, we are here to move forward with each and every Suncoast member.

The Suncoast team carries this same sense of purpose into our community service efforts. In 2025, team members volunteered nearly 48,000 hours, extending our momentum into the neighborhoods we serve and reinforcing our commitment to making a lasting difference.

Building and maintaining momentum doesn’t happen by chance. It evolves through trust, commitment, and a shared sense of purpose. As we look forward, we’re energized by the endless opportunities and are confident in our ability to grow with our members, employees and our local communities. Suncoast is certain of our team’s ability to adapt and evolve as we deliver the services and support you need most—today and into the future.

On behalf of our board of directors, leadership team, and all our employees, we are proud to share our 2025 achievements in this annual report. Thank you to our members for being the foundation of our momentum—and for continuing to grow with Suncoast Credit Union.

SUNCOAST LEADERSHIP

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

SUPERVISORY COMMITTEE

The credit union operates under the laws of the United States of America and is a state chartered financial institution, which is regulated by the Office of Financial Regulation (OFR) for the State of Florida. Deposits are insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), an agency of the federal government. Examiners of both the OFR and NCUA make periodic examinations to ensure proper operation of the credit union.

The credit union’s Board of Directors appoints a Supervisory Committee responsible for safeguarding the credit union’s assets and protecting the interests of the members. In this capacity, we are pleased to present the 2025 report.

The committee engaged the certified public accounting firm of Baker Tilly US, LLP to perform an independent audit. In the opinion of the auditors, the credit union’s complete set of financial statements, which are not presented in the report, present fairly, in all material respects, the financial position of the credit union as of December 31, 2025, and the results of its operations and its cash flows for the year ended. Furthermore, the committee meets monthly and reviews the work performed by the Internal Audit Department in financial and operational areas of the credit union.

Based on the above activities, it is the unanimous opinion of the Supervisory Committee that Suncoast Credit Union is financially solid and is being operated safely and soundly.

FINANCIALS

In 2025, Suncoast delivered a year of meaningful progress while navigating a challenging economic environment. Despite macroeconomic uncertainty and increasing financial strain on our members driven by rising unemployment and affordability challenges, we remained unwavering to our mission—continuing to extend access to credit and support our members when they needed it most, even as lending tightened across the broader industry. Loan growth was strong, growing at 15%, and we supported more than 225,000 members through a broad range of loan products— continuing our longstanding philosophy of “people helping people.”

During the year, charge offs increased to 1.25%, reflecting the financial pressures faced by many households. Even so, Suncoast continued to expand its financial strength. Total assets approached $20 billion, representing a 10.3% increase from 2024. Membership grew by 8.25%, with 105,000 net new members joining the credit union. We also reinforced our financial resiliency by adding $302 million to reserves.

Growth in our loan portfolio was driven by strong performance across several key categories, including auto loans, mortgage lending, lines of credit,

and member business loans. In total, these areas contributed to $8.2 billion in new loan originations. A competitive rate environment enabled us to maintain member loyalty and support continued expansion.

On the deposit side, members benefited from attractive savings options throughout the year. Certificates of deposit grew by more than $1.3 billion, reflecting strong demand for secure savings products. While core deposits increased modestly by 2.2% amid ongoing economic headwinds, overall deposit balances rose a healthy 9.7%.

As we look ahead to 2026 and the uncertainties that may arise, Suncoast remains steadfast in its commitment to improving the financial well-being of our members and the communities we serve. With continued momentum in both membership and lending, we are well positioned to deliver value, enhance financial stability, and safeguard our members’ futures.

The Suncoast Board of Directors, management team, and staff remain united in their dedication to providing exceptional service and supporting our members through every stage of their financial journeys.

A BETTER PATH FORWARD. Member’s Story

One Friday evening, a new member walked into a branch to open an account with Patricia, never expecting to walk out with a much better financial path. As they chatted, Patricia asked a few thoughtful questions and quickly uncovered a recent signature loan the member had taken out elsewhere, burdened with a steep 29.35% interest rate and a $900 processing fee.

Recognizing an opportunity to make an immediate impact, Patricia ran a Suncoast refinance quote right then and there. The results were game changing: the interest rate was cut in half, monthly payments dropped by $120, and the member stayed fully protected. Thrilled, the member applied on the spot and was approved, not only for the amount needed, but for an extra $1,000 as well, which she happily accepted.

True to our commitment to Being the Member’s Advocate, Patricia also shared Suncoast’s no fee accounts and current promotions, including a chance to win a free year of groceries by switching direct deposit. The experience wrapped up with a conversation about a Smart Start Certificate and future mortgage refinance options, leaving the member excited, empowered, and confident she made the right move.

GROWING OUR LOCAL BUSINESSES WITH A PURPOSE

Through our Business and Commercial Banking services, we empower enterprises of all sizes – helping them scale sustainably, support their employees, and contribute to a stronger local economy. By investing in businesses, public institutions, and workforce well-being, we are building momentum that fuels long-term success for both our members and the communities we call home.

Growing Our Business Solutions

As Suncoast grows, so do the solutions we offer, and that growth opens new doors for our business members. Our commercial banking capabilities support businesses as they invest, scale, and operate with confidence.

We combine the strength of a commercial bank with a relationship-driven approach. Competitive terms, lower fees, and no intangible tax mean more capital stays where it belongs: in our members’ businesses. And as our membership continues to grow, we grow right alongside them, evolving our services to meet changing needs at every stage.

Expanding Our Commercial Reach

In 2025, Suncoast achieved a significant milestone by becoming a Qualified Public Depositor (QPD). This designation allows us to expand beyond traditional business enterprises and serve government entities and public institutions. It strengthens our commercial platform and reinforces our role as a trusted partner in the responsible stewardship of community funds.

Protection That Scales With Our Members

In today’s fast moving business environment, protecting capital is just as important as managing daily operations. To meet that need, Suncoast launched SecureSelect Extended Insurance Accounts, delivering up to $15 million in extended NCUA share insurance while maintaining seamless access and full account visibility.

GROWING OUR KEY PROGRAMS AND PARTNERSHIPS WITH A PURPOSE

As our members’ lives evolve, so do their needs, and Suncoast remains a trusted partner at every stage. Through the development of purpose driven programs and partnerships, we are expanding access, removing barriers, and delivering meaningful support where it matters most.

By meeting members at critical moments in life and business, these partnerships deepen relationships and allow Suncoast to reinvest in stronger services, enhanced benefits, and long term community impact – building a more resilient future for both our members and the communities we serve.

Supporting Homeownership

Buying a home is more than a transaction, it’s a long-term commitment. Suncoast supports members throughout the journey, starting with our Mortgage Resource Hub, which launched in 2025 offering tools for managing mortgages and home equity loans, including payment options, escrow and insurance insights, and hardship support. Members Insurance Center, LLC further strengthens this journey by providing easy access to reliable home insurance options.

When members are ready to buy or sell, Suncoast Realty Solutions, LLC, and Members Title Agency, LLC, deliver end-to-end guidance, streamlined processes, and often lower overall costs – helping make a major milestone simpler and more confident.

Expanding Affordable Homeownership With Habitat for Humanity

This year, Suncoast became the preferred lender for Habitat for Humanity in Lee & Hendry Counties, strengthening our commitment to affordable housing. Previously, Habitat self-funded its mortgages, limiting how many families could secure a home.

Through a unified effort across multiple areas of the organization, Habitat homebuyers now have access to Suncoast’s Affordable Home Mortgage along with financial education and support to set them up for long-term success.

With thousands seeking Habitat homes each year, this partnership expands the impact that both Suncoast and Habitat create by helping more families achieve accessible, sustainable homeownership.

Fueling Entrepreneurial Growth and Economic Opportunity

Suncoast is committed to helping entrepreneurs turn ideas into sustainable businesses. From first time owners to growing enterprises, we provide guidance, flexible lending, and personalized support designed to strengthen local economies and expand opportunity across our footprint.

Our SBA Loans and Microloans address nontraditional business needs, such as shorter operating histories or limited credit, helping remove barriers to entry while creating pathways to long-term success. In 2025, the Microenterprise Development Program facilitated nearly 100 consultations, supporting entrepreneurs with business planning, financial structuring, and potential access to capital.

SUPPORT WHEN IT MATTERS MOST.

Member’s Story

Recently at the Crystal River branch, Ricky and the Member Solutions team had the opportunity to make a meaningful difference for a member facing an incredibly difficult season of life. During her visit, she shared that she had been diagnosed with a terminal illness and was dealing with additional health challenges, both of which had taken a heavy toll emotionally and financially.

Living on a fixed monthly income of just $770, the member was struggling to keep up with her credit card payments and felt overwhelmed by the strain. Ricky listened with empathy and care, taking the time to fully understand her situation. Working closely with Member Solutions, he was able to restructure her credit card, lowering her monthly payment by $195, an adjustment that brought immediate and much‑needed relief.

Through compassion, teamwork, and thoughtful action, Ricky and the Member Solutions team turned a moment of stress into one of support and reassurance. The member left the service center feeling lighter, supported, and deeply grateful, reminded that even in the hardest moments, she wasn’t alone.

Education Community Spotlight

Suncoast has a long, proud history of supporting the education community, and our new partnership with the Lee County School District continues that commitment. Suncoast’s partnership with Feeding Tampa Bay (FTB) reflects our commitment to supporting families with both essential resources and long-term opportunity.

Over the summer we surprised longtime member Jose Garcia, with a full year of free mortgage payments as part of our statewide Year of No Payments Giveaway. Jose, a Suncoast member since age 11, celebrated the life changing prize with his family at the Zephyrhills branch.

This support helps us move toward a more secure future. I’m beyond grateful,” Jose shared.

The giveaway gave Suncoast members across Florida the chance to win a full year of paid mortgage, rent, or car payments. Jose continues a multigenerational connection to the credit union. His grandmother opened his first account, and his wife and daughters are members, too.

“Supporting our members through meaningful moments like this is what Suncoast is all about,” said Kevin Johnson, President/CEO at Suncoast. “Witnessing the life-changing power of financial support is a reminder of why we do what we do every single day.

BUILDING MOMENTUM THAT LIFTS OUR COMMUNITY

GROWING OPPORTUNITIES WITH A PURPOSE

Since our founding, Suncoast has believed that strong communities fuel strong futures. In 2025, our focus on growth reminds us that progress is most meaningful when it’s shared. Through partnerships, volunteerism, and targeted investment, we continue to support initiatives that strengthen families, education, and economic opportunity across our footprint.

THE POWER OF CONNECTION. Member’s Story

In September, a married couple stopped by the Service Center to close out their Jumbo Share Certificate, planning to move their funds for what they believed was a slightly better rate elsewhere. Service Center Manager Andrea stepped in to help and, with genuine curiosity, asked about their plans. When she shared Suncoast’s rate sheet and highlighted the new 21 month Promotional Share Certificate, the members were pleasantly surprised and quickly reconsidered.

As the conversation continued, Andrea discovered a personal connection: the members lived in the same complex as her aunt. That simple moment of connection, paired with exceptional service, made a lasting impression. Just two hours later, the members returned with a check for over $400,000 to open an additional 21 month Jumbo CD. One of the members even shared that she skipped her regular card game just to come back and work with Andrea again.

What began as funds headed elsewhere turned into over $700,000 retained through trust, connection, and outstanding service, an unmistakable example of Service Delivery Excellence in action.

Learn more about how our Foundation supports the community:

A Grand Slam for the Community

In 2025, we were proud to continue our partnership with the Tampa Bay Rays to provide financial support for local nonprofits, for the third year. The program, called Every Hit is a Win, is something we look forward to every year – it’s a fun and exciting way to engage with our community and benefit local nonprofits in the process. Talk about a win-win!

Each month during baseball season, we hand-picked two local nonprofit organizations with missions aligned with our core values to participate. Each time the Rays scored a hit, Suncoast added $79 to a donation pot (to represent our 79 branches at the time).

The nonprofits each had one month to rack up votes on a poll hosted on Suncoast’s website. At the end of the month, the funds were divided between the two organizations based on the percentage of votes they received, so no organization walked away empty-handed. And to really end the season on a high note, we hosted all of the nonprofits at a Rays game to network, collaborate, and celebrate the success of the season. Every hit truly was a win!

Student Run Branches:

Empowering Our Students to Learn About

Finances

There’s no better way to learn than by jumping right in. That’s why Suncoast’s Student Run Branches (SRBs) give students real, hands on experience in roles like Branch Manager, Marketing Manager, and Teller—processing applications, accepting deposits, and serving their fellow students and school staff.

Our Suncoast team partners with each SRB to help students share the credit union difference through campaigns, presentations, and seminars that they lead from start to finish.

These branches do more than teach financial know-how, they push students to grow through new challenges, develop practical technical and interpersonal skills, build strong resumes, and gain a competitive edge when it’s time to apply for jobs or college.

This year, Suncoast added 5 new SRBs to our program, making for a total of 26 managed SRBs in 2025. The new schools were located in Lee, Hillsborough, Collier, and DeSoto Counties.

SERVICE THAT MAKES A DIFFERENCE.

Member’s Story

On a day when everything was already carefully timed, one delay nearly cost a member her rent. As the full‑time caregiver for her elderly parent, she rarely leaves home and when a nurse arrived late, she feared she’d miss the branch closing and the chance to pick up the check she urgently needed.

Panicked, she called the Member Care Center just minutes before closing and was connected to Brittany at her local branch. Hearing the urgency in her voice, Brittany took ownership immediately. When the member arrived, Brittany met her outside the branch, even though it was already closed, prepared with everything needed, receipt, ID verification, and the check. Her proactive approach and willingness to go above and beyond made all the difference.

What could have been a financial setback became a moment of relief and gratitude. The member later shared that Brittany’s kindness changed her day, and her life. In one simple act, Brittany turned stress into hope, perfectly reflecting the heart of Suncoast service.

Quote from the member:

“In a world where nothing is to be expected, a little bit of kindness can be the difference in someone’s life. A moment that may seem so insignificant to someone, can quite literally change our life in so many ways.”
