ACCOMMODATIONS:
Nestled in the foothills of Washington’s Cascade Mountains, Suncadia’s story is rooted in the region’s rich natural and cultural heritage. The land, once home to Native American tribes and later shaped by the coal mining and logging industries, has evolved into a thoughtfully planned community that honors its past while embracing the future. Suncadia’s vision is to create a balanced community that harmonizes with the surrounding forest, river corridors, and mountain vistas, ensuring that the legacy of the land endures for generations.
Suncadia is deeply committed to land stewardship and giving back to the greater Kittitas County region. In partnership with the Kittitas Conservation Trust (KCT), Suncadia has preserved approximately 1,240 acres of the Cle Elum River Corridor as open space, with a “no net loss” policy for fish and wildlife habitat. Today, an estimated 3,400 acres are protected through conservation easements, supporting habitat restoration, forest health, and sustainable land management.
The Suncadia Fund for Community Enhancement not only funds many legacy events for the greater Kittitas County Community, but also supports local organizations and initiatives, including Habitat for Humanity and I-90 Life Support, to foster vibrant, resilient communities and enhance the quality of life for all residents.
Art is a defining part of Suncadia’s character, woven into the landscape, architecture, and community experience since the resort’s earliest days. It lives beyond galleries, appearing along trails, in gathering spaces, and throughout the property, inviting guests, residents, and visitors to engage with creativity in an accessible, welcoming way. Rooted in the natural beauty and cultural heritage of Cle Elum, the art found across Suncadia reflects the spirit of the region and connects people across generations.
