CUSTOMER OVERVIEW A manufacturer machining aluminum die-cast (ADC) components was generating large volumes of waste coolant during production. Although coolant was recovered through a centrifugal separation process, significant amounts of oil and fine aluminum particles remained in the fluid. The remaining contamination shortened coolant life, created quality concerns, and forced the customer to dispose of approximately 3,000 liters of coolant each month as industrial waste. The JCC-HM was introduced to improve coolant recovery and reduce disposal costs.

KEY CHALLENGES
Residual Aluminum Particles Reduced Coolant Usability Fine aluminum particles that could not be removed through centrifugal separation remained in the recovered coolant. These particles adhered to workpieces, creating quality concerns and limiting the usable life of the recycled coolant.
Disposable Filter Solutions Were Not Cost-Effective The customer evaluated various filtration methods, but ongoing consumable replacement costs made them impractical for long-term use.
High Waste Coolant Disposal Costs Unable to effectively remove both oil and fine aluminum particles, the customer disposed of approximately 3,000 liters of coolant per month as industrial waste, creating significant recurring costs.
