Discovering Anguilla Donna Feldman’s Caribbean Getaway ©Susan Campbell

hen I first interviewed our past cover girl supermodel/actress Donna Feldman, we got talking about travels, since I’m mainly a travel writer by profession. Though Donna had been to many exotic locales around the world, she had yet to visit the Caribbean, so we decided that when she was ready to take a holiday, I’d help her choose the ideal destination. That time came up recently, and since I was already going to Anguilla for their annual literary festival, I suggested she and her boyfriend go there too. Anguilla is one of my favorite islands due to its incredible beaches, but I also chose it as their introduction to the Caribbean for another reason. Anguilla is no stranger to celebrities. It’s a laid-back, peaceful escape that does privacy and discretion very well for the rich and famous seeking seclusion and luxury. I’d also heard there was a new boutique luxury resort, Ani Villas, which would serve well as their romantic getaway. So I arranged their stay and a transfer from St. Maarten airport to Anguilla by boat

through Tenderrental.com It’s the best way to get there, as major airlines don’t fly into Anguilla, and it takes less then 20 minutes by water. We met up at my resort, CuisinArt, and had a blast at their beach bar. We met up again on gorgeous Shoal Bay – often ranked among the top three beaches in the world – while they were having “Beach Butler” service from Ani Villas. Of their stay Donna said, “Anguilla was a magical place I'll never forget and we plan to return. They have some of the most gorgeous beaches with powdery white sand and turquoise waters I've seen outside of Bora Bora. Also, the locals are such friendly people and we had some of the best food we’ve had anywhere in the world!” Though I was busy with the literary festival, I did get together with the couple often enough to see that they were indeed having the holiday of their dreams.
