ZAMBOANGA CITY – Two suspects were arrested while an estimated PHP2.3 million worth of smuggled cigarettes were seized by authorities in an anti-smuggling operation here, an official said Tuesday. PRESIDENT Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr on Tuesday said he hopes the nationwide implementation of the “Kadiwa ng Pasko” project could lower rice prices this holiday season. “The 20 pesos was really the goal, the dream is paabutin natin ng 20 pesos. We are trying to do… we are continuing with the transfer payments that we have begun with. We are going to widen the scope of the Kadiwa,” President Marcos said in an interview with the media in Los Baños, Laguna. “The Kadiwa was always conducted sa LGU at ang LGU level, individually. Ngayon, ginawa na naming national program. Sinama na natin lahat-lahat nung mga Kadiwa.
