OPOL, Misamis Oriental (PIA)--The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) District Northern Mindanao together with the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) 1001st Squadron successfully launched the 1st Joint PCG-PCGA Bay Watch Patrol Team in the region at Opol, Misamis Oriental, February 12. The PCG and PCGA are working together to start and run the Bay Watch Patrol Team. DAVAO CITY — An advocacy group has expressed alarm over the increasing number of Filipino children getting exposed to various threats on the internet, particularly sexual abuse or exploitation. as a “global epicenter” of the Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children (OSAEC). He said the production of images of sexual abuse and exploitation has significantly increased in the country. At least 600,000 images and videos of naked, sexualized, and abused Filipino children were uploaded, shared and sold online in 2018, he said.
