THE Cagayan de Oro Historical and Cultural Commission (Hiscom) will be holding a two-day event this week to mark the formal launching of a decade-long celebration of the 4th Centennial of the city’s founding as a settlement. “Forum Kagay-anon 390 is a 10-year program that will usher in the fourth centennial of the founding of the city’s original

settlement in the Barangay 1 area,” said Dr. Erlinda M. XU grad ranks 9th in CPA board exam Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan’s March 2016 summa cum laude graduate Marika Calagos Tan landed on the ninth highest spot in the October 2016 Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensure examination. Tan garnered a passing rate of 92.17% and shared the top 9 place with five other takers from other schools. After 59 out of 103 examinees successfully took the CPA board exam, XU reaped a passing rate of 57.28%, against the national passing rate of 36.48%. “I am very pleased to inform the community that in the October 2016 Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination, XU had an examinee who garnered the 9th highest place. CAGAYAN de Oro City--The local august body here would start deliberating the proposed whooping PHP 5 billion 2017 budget of the city, Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin Uy said here. He said that City Mayor Oscar Moreno has submitted the proposed PHP 5 billion budget for both the General Fund and Special Account/Operation of the city’s economic enterprises in the amounts of PHP 4,621,842,141 and PHP 378,157,859, respectively. Uy said that out of the PHP 5 billion budget, 32-percent or PHP 1.60 billion is earmarked for General Public Services, which would be used for programs that would promote order and public
