Lawmaker seeks review of funeral industry regulations By Filane Mikee Z. Cervantes of PNA

A lawmaker at the House of Representatives has filed a resolution seeking for a review of pertinent rules and regulations governing the funeral industry after at least 120 unclaimed and rotting cadavers were discovered in a funeral home in La Loma, Quezon City. Kabataan Partylist Rep. Sarah Elago cited in House Resolution No. 488 the recent incident involving Henry Memorial Services, which continued accepting unidentified bodies even upon receiving a closure order for violations of the sanitary and health code.
