AGAYAN DE ORO CITY - The Cagayan de Oro Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation Inc. has elected a new President for 2017 last October 25, 2016 during their Election of Officers Meeting at the Oro Chamber Board Room. PCCI Vice President for Mindanao, Mr. Antonio “Tony” Uy, having been appointed as chairman of the COMELEC during
the election proclaimed the winners. Also present in the meeting was outgoing President, Mr. Jeffrey T.
Ang who likewise congratulated the incoming Board of Directors of Oro Chamber. The incoming President, Mr. Robert E. Pizarro has won the votes of his fellow trustees as he presented his platform and plans for the Chamber. For his administration, he aims to promote a good business climate for Cagayan de Oro and Northern Mindanao, and
strengthen government and business partnerships. He wou l d a l s o l i ke to take advantage of the Duterte administration’s thrusts, the first President to hail from Mindanao, to develop the countryside and to ramp up economic activities in the rural areas. These economic benefits, he said, could spur the development of Cagayan de Oro and its See chamber, page B3

OCD conducts RDANA confab for MisOr CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY -- Office of Civil Defense 10 conducted a five-day training on Rapid Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis (RDANA) for the Province of Misamis Oriental. The training aims to empower the members of the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils (LDRRMCs) to provide quicker and more comprehensive reporting and response action during disaster. The participants were trained on quick assessment of disaster damage for faster submission of report so that immediate appropriate relief actions can be undertaken. Meanwhile, the Provincial Government of Misamis
Oriental in collaboration with the United Nations World Food Programme (UN-WFP) provided technical assistance to the municipality of Medina in the conduct of their respective Contingency Planning Formulation Workshop. Through the the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), the four-day activity was geared in devising a Contingency Plan for the respective Local Government Unit that enhances their capability in focusing their management capacity on how to cope up with the hazard they are planning for.
