JASAAN, Misamis Oriental – Agutayan Reef, a protected marine sanctuary off the coast of Jasaan in Misamis Oriental, has been found to be rich with rare species of marine life, including century-old corals, a veteran diver who dipped into the highly acclaimed tourism sites in the province said.

MISAMIS Oriental--A lawyer and four others were held after government agents raided the house of the scion of a prominent political family in Balingasag, Misamis Oriental Thursday morning. Known as the “untouchables,” the ancestral house of former provincial board member Porferio Roa Sr., of Misamis Oriental, was raided by anti-illegal drug operatives Thursday. Nabbed during the raid were lawyer Michael Roa, Porferio Roa Jr., John Ray
Roa and his live-in partner Justine May Fontabella, they did not resist the search. Adrian G. Alvariño, regional director, of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Northern Mindanao, said that the raiding team, armed with a search warrant, also recovered alleged list of “illegal drug” transactions involving money and personalities. SAN FRANCISCO, Agusan del Sur—A 10 megawatt solar power plant will be built and expected to be operational in July 2017 within a 15-hectare lot in Bayugan 2 village giving bright economic prospects for the development of renewable energy sources in the province.
This came about after a public hearing was held by Energy Regulatory Commission at the main office Agusan del Sur Electric Cooperative, Inc. (ASELCO) here for the joint application of renewable energy service contract by GPower, Inc. and ASELCO. Jose Carlos, Jr., GPower president, said the company is awaiting for ERC to issue
a provisional authority in January next year for them to start constructing the Solar Photovoltaic Power (ground mounted) project which can be completed within a six-month period.
