TUBOD, Lanao de Norte -- Governor Imelda “Angging” Quibranza-Dimaporo hosted the conduct of the Joint ConsultationMeeting of the Regional Development C ouncil (RDC) and the Provincial Development Council of Lanao del Norte in the Formulation of the Regional Development Plan for 2017-2022, on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 206, at the MCC Gymnasium, Sagadan, here. RD C chairman and Bukidnon Governor Jose Zubiri Jr. presided over the joint consultation meeting alongside Lanao del Norte Gov. Quibranza-Dimaporo. Zubiri said this is the second province he has held series of joint consultationmeetings region-wide. The first was held in Misamis Occidental province last Tuesday, Nov. 8. Joining Governors Zubiri and Dimaporo were Lanao del Norte 1st District Representative Abdullah “Bobby” Dimaporo, 2nd District Representative Mohammad Khalid Dimaporo, RDC vice chairperson and National Economic Development Authority, Regional Office 10 (NEDA 10) Regional Director Leon Dacanay, along with Executive Assistant IV Sittie Aminah Dimaporo, among others. “What we did here is the first to happen. In the past, the RDC meetings are done once every three months; and, what really happened was the projects (submitted for approval) were actually from Manila and merely approved here in the local level. But, this time it’s different,” Zubiri said. Zubiri said all the local concerns are culled and be taken up directly by the RDC and then to the Office of the President.

Council for children underscores right to education By Recthie T. Paculba
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY) -- With the theme, “Isulong: Kalidad na Edukasyon Para sa Lahat ng Bata,” the Regional Council for the Welfare of Children (RCWC) kicks off the 24th National Children’s Month
celebration with a motorcade, turnover of pencils for the One Million Lapis project and medical mission on November 7 at Kiosko Kagawasan, Cagayan de Oro City. To help children focus on their studies and maximize the efforts of the gov-
ernment to ensure quality education, Cagayan de Oro City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) Officer Teddy Sabuga-a says that it is important to take care of the children’s health. Hence, he urges mothers to provide the best nutrition to their children especially
in their first two growing years stressing that the inability to nurture the child in such time of their life would result to fragile growth. Since this stage is irreversible, Sabuga-a said that mothers should be breastfeeding their infants from 0-2 years.
For her part, Department of Social Welfare and Development-10 (DSWD) Assistant Regional Director for Operations Aldersey M. Dela Cruz says that education starts at home with the family and it is just continued in schools. See education, page B4

members taking the initiative to prepare for their future early in their working years,” she said. Employees comprised a large share of PESO Fund enrollment with 3,116 members or 85 percent, followed by voluntary members with
