AGAYAN DE ORO (MindaNews / ) — Rising criminality in the city has forced Jesuit-owned Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan to suspend some of its face-to-face college classes starting Friday. Xavier University Vice President for Higher Education Juliet Dalagan said classes scheduled from 4:30pm and onwards will have to revert back to online mode starting September 1 until September 9. Key deals to be signed in PBBM Indonesia, Singapore visits: DFA By Joyce Ann L. Rocamora

MANILA – Key agreements on defense, culture and other areas of cooperation will be signed during President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s state visit to Indonesia and Singapore. In his Sept. 4 to 6 trip to Indonesia, Marcos and President Joko Widodo will witness the signing of agreements on defense, culture, as well as the comprehensive Plan of Action that will chart the two nations’ bilateral priorities over the

next five years. Agreements on counterterrorism and data privacy will then be signed with Singapore during the chief executive’s meeting with Singaporean leaders from Sept. 6 to 7. Cops track 5 persons of interest in probe of fake BI appointment By Christopher Lloyd Caliwan

MANILA – Police investigators are now tracking five persons of interest allegedly linked to a fake document supposedly announcing the appointment of a new commissioner of the Bureau of Immi-gration (BI). “Sa ngayon ay may limang tao po tayong naidentify, kung saan ang tatlo po ay napadalhan na ng subpeona sa kanikanilang known address.
