Price monitoring With the imposition of a price freeze, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Camiguin enforcement team intensifies price monitoring and enforcement of Fair Trade Laws (FTLS) among business establishments. This is to ensure that the goods covered are sold at prevailing prices and checked on the price and supply situation of goods in various areas in the province. In view of Proclamation No. 55 issued on September 4, 2016 declaring a state of national emergency on account of lawless violence, the DTI Provincial Office has imposed a 60-day Price Freeze on basic necessities and prime commodities. Pursuant to Section 6 of Republic Act No. 7581, The Price Act, as amended, prices of basic necessities are automatically frozen at their prevailing prices or place under automatic price control.

HE Department of Energy (DOE) has announced that it will provide technical assistance to all micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) who are willing to use solar energy in their respective businesses. Speaking during the 5th Mindanao Businessweek Leaders and Entrepreneurs Awards last Saturday in

Cagayan de Oro City, Energy Undersecretary L. Ardon said the DOE plan is hoped to materialize in 2017.

“It is part of President Duterte’s priorities. We are prioritizing MSMEs,” Mr. Ardon said even as he revealed that the program will start in Mindanao and will move on to Visayas and Luzon. Brunei visit to boost PHL’s Halal industry

‘Color blind’ THE Department of Social Welfare and Development Secretary (DSWD) assured on Sunday that it will be “color blind” when it comes to helping the needy and the poor as instructed by President Rodrigo R. Duterte. “We must help all Filipinos who come to us for help -– regardless of their political affiliations or persuasions. The relief goods we distribute come from taxpayers -– we have to give them to those in need as soon as possible,” said DSWD Secretary Judy M. Taguiwalo. In line with this, she assured that they will work hard to give out the emergency shelter assistance (ESA) that calamity-affected families are entitled to.
