Supreme Court upholds inclusion of Cotabato City in Bangsamoro region

KORONADAL CITY – The Supreme Court En Banc has upheld the inclusion of Cotabato City in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). The ruling was made last January 10 but made public only today, Thursday. During the plebiscite on January 21, 2019 for the ratification of Republic Act 11054 or the Organic Law for the BARMM, majority of the voters in Cotabato City, then a part of Soccsksargen or Region 12, voted yes to be part of the new Bangsamoro region. MISAMIS ORIENTAL (PIA)–The 10-year celebration of the Kuyamis Festival set history as the provincial government of Misamis Oriental and the city government of Cagayan de Oro City worked together to celebrate the festivities through sports activities from January 9 to 13. MDNN NATIONAL – A top official of the Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) said he prefers to charge the PNP officers involved in the drug trade rather than asking for mass courtesy resignation. The VACC top official said the said move spearheaded by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the PNP will only demoralize the organization.
