The 2019 “In Living Colour” Art Exhibition is jointly organized by S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Evergreen News Club and Vancouver Pro Pack Trading Inc. from Dec 1 - 6 from 10am to 5 pm at Lipont Gallery in Richmond. You are cordially invited to join the opening ceremony on November 30 (Saturday) at 4 pm. “In Living Colour” Art Exhibition is a biennial exhibition first organized by the famous photographer James Yip since 2005. The exhibition is well supported by 30 well-known local artists this year with over 80 pieces of precious artworks. Proceeds will be donated to unfunded programs of S.U.C.C.E.S.S.

Kin Cheung Chan 陳建章 Chan, a famous calligraphy artist, was born in Guangdong. He is a professor at the National Taiwan Normal University, majored in Chinese language and literature, and working as a teacher in Hong Kong. Immigrated to Vancouver, Canada in 1978, Chan started the Chan's Art Garden, and was retired in 2000. Many of his works are collected by the National Museum of Canada. Johnson Chow 周士心 Chow was born in Suzhou, China in 1923 and was a graduate of Suzhou Fine Arts College. Since 1957, Professor Chow’s works have received numerous major art awards and honors. He received the B.C. Community Achievement Award in April 2011 and has held around 130 joint or solo art exhibitions. His works have been collected by many international cultural institutions and museums, including the National Museum of Canada. He is the Founding President of the Chinese Canadian Artists Federation in Vancouver. In 2012, he held an art exhibition in celebration of his 90th birthday. He was the runner-up for the Philippe Charriol Foundation Modern Painting Competition Exhibition (Hong Kong and Paris) in 1986. Shao-gang Guo郭紹綱 Guo, born in Beijing in 1932, is an oil painter, calligraphist and art educator. After graduating from the Central Academy of Art, he furthered his studies in Russia. He taught at the Guangzhou Academy of Art and his accomplishment in art education has been highly recognized by the Chinese government. In 1999, he was appointed Honorary Professor by Repin Art Academy in Russia and was presented a special medal by the Russian government. Joyce Hu 胡曄寧 A Canadian freelance photographer, Joyce Hu studied Chinese painting in Shanghai from a renowned master Ruosi Hu. After coming to Canada, she loves the natural beauty of North America. Since 2002, Joyce followed Freeman Patterson, a world-class Canadian photographer, to learn visual design in photography and later obtained a Certificate in Photography at Langara College. In 2006, he obtained the British Royal Society of Photography (APRS). In 2014, her personal work was exhibited at the Richmond Museum of Art. Yuk Ying Hung 熊玉英 Hung was born in 1947 in China. She moved to Hong Kong when she was 5 and then immigrated to Canada in 1992. She learned traditional Chinese painting and oil painting from renowned contemporary artists, Professor Yan-Yong Ting since 1962. She is also an acclaimed Chinese calligraphist. She has been invited to display her works in a number of exhibitions and was awarded many awards, including a certificate of merit in the World Paintings Exhibition in Nagoya, Japan in 1989. Kwok Fan Lau 劉國藩 Lau was born in Zhongshan Guangdong, China in 1928. He lectured at the Hong Kong Grantham College of Education, the Sir Robert Black College of Education and the Hang Sang School of Commerce before retiring to Canada. He is currently a permanent member of the Chinese Canadian Artists Federation in Vancouver and the International Chinese Society of Photography and Arts in New York, U.S.A. Shak Fung Leung 梁石峯 [1913-2015] Leung (1913-2015) was born in 1913 and studied Chinese calligraphy at an early age under his elder brother. He graduated from the Shanghai Academy of Art under the guidance of Huang Binhong. He worked as an art teacher for twenty-five years before immigrating to Vancouver 1974. He is an accomplished Chinese calligrapher, sealengraver as well as a painter. As a poet, he is able to combine the essence of poetry, Chinese calligraphy and painting in his art. Two of his works, one of Chinese calligraphy and the other a painting, are now at the Canadian Museum of Civilization. 已故，文學家及詩書畫家，七十年代從香港 移居溫哥華，對推動及弘揚華夏文化有卓越 的貢獻，曾獲省政府頒贈嘉許狀以誌其功。 其書畫表現堅貞、亮節、瀟灑、脫俗，正是 傳統文人的品行。

In 1997, he won an award at an exhibition organized by the Federation of Canadian Artists and an award from the Chinese Canadian Artists Federation in Vancouver. Jeanie Tang 呂雪貞 Tang specializes in painting watercolor on silk. Her favorite subjects include flowers, insects and birds. Her paintings are a delicate combination of both traditional Chinese painting techniques and western watercolor methods. She has been a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and a co-founder of the Richmond Chinese Painting & Calligraphy Club. Johnson Wu 吳大剛 Wu was born in Shanghai, China in 1959. He studied Fine Arts at the Shanghai Arts and Crafts College in 1997. He moved to Hong Kong in 1980 and later immigrated to Vancouver. In his art work, he possesses a unique bold style that conveys a sense of modern times.
