SAFETY AND LABORATORY PRODUCTION
The pursuit of safety has played a key role since fhe foundation of Sabelt. We have been the first to equip the laboratories of our plant with a dynamic test which simulates crashes and pre - homologares products for the strict automotive standards: an inoovative system prescribed by ECE and FIA regulations. All tests are conducted with the specific intent to maintain a bigger margin to the minimum required, with outstanding performance levels built with style and design.
All Sabelt products are designed and engineered exclusively by Sabelt in the operational headquarters in Turin, in collaboration with external design centers or in partnership with clients car makers.

From the world of motorsport, Sabelt has developed a range of premium sports seats for the world’s top car manufacturers. It designs and manufactures safety belts and seats for vehicles with a strong sporting connotation, dedicated to an advanced and demanding driver, that is sports oriented and has a particular attention to quality. Its main partners are: Ferrari, McLaren, Alpine, Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Jaguar, Cupra, Maserati and Aston Martin.
Sabelt is able to develop
implement new technologies dedicated to various applications of safety seatbelts in niche markets, such as the military, aviation, aerospace, exceptional transport and many other fields where technical and customized products are required. Since 2010, Sabelt has been the supplier of Thales Alenia Space Italia for the restraint systems of the Cygnus Orbital-ATK module (belts and nets).

Sabelt and the Dacia Sandriders join forces to improve safety in the world of rallying
The desert as a backdrop, sand and dirt as the stage for Sabelt’s latest challenge: innovating safety in Rally Raid.
A challenge posed by the FIA and its Health and Safety Department who, through studies over the years, have found that spinal injuries caused by a hard impact or landing are a common problem reported by cross country rally drivers.
Rally cars are designed and built to compete in difficult environments and on the roughest of terrains, which presents unique challenges. Encounters with unexpected obstacles can result in large jumps and hard landings which the car, driver and co-driver must be able to handle safely.
Accident analysis conducted by the FIA has shown that the load on the spine, particularly during hard landings, can reach critical levels and pose a risk of injury
With this in mind, Sabelt has teamed up with the Dacia Sandriders, which will compete with the Sandrider prototype in the Dakar and the World Rally Raid Championship in 2025 on some of the world’s most demanding outdoor test tracks.
Inspired by the Manifesto concept car, Dacia’s ideas laboratory unveiled in 2022, Sandrider is a completely new vehicle designed specifically for rally-raid. This innovatively designed prototype focuses on agility and lightness, responding precisely to the essential needs of the driver and co-driver.
Sandrider was created to meet this challenge with an approach faithful to Dacia’s ‘robust & outdoor’ concept, taken to the extreme.
And this is where Sabelt, with its decades of experience in motorsport safety, comes in as the ideal partner to raise the level of driver safety. Together with the Dacia Sandriders, Sabelt designed a seat with high safety standards, upholstered with special anti-bacterial moistureregulating fabrics, mounted on an innovative shock absorber from Prodrive, a British technology company and motorsport team. Overall, system is able to cushion around 60 per cent of the impact and provide greater safety for the pilots on board by bringing the peak load below the threshold value at which spinal injuries occur.
It is Sabelt’s nature to push the boundaries of innovation, creating a safer future for riders and setting a new standard for protection in the most extreme racing environments.
