Dear Readers,

May has officially arrived, and with it, that irresistible Florida glow we like to call early summer perfection. The sun lingers a little longer, the skies shine a little brighter, and suddenly Orlando transforms into a playground where every day feels like a mini vacation.

Living in one of the world’s top destinations has its perks, and this is the moment to enjoy them. Before the summer crowds roll in at full speed, May and June offer a sweet spot: shorter lines, cooler vibes (well… Florida-cool), and endless opportunities to explore everything from our iconic theme parks to world-class shopping and dining. Consider this your invitation to play tourist in your own backyard.

But beyond the excitement, this season is also about connection. After celebrating Easter and Passover, we carry that spirit of togetherness forward, whether it’s a spontaneous beach day, a weekend escape, or simply sharing laughter over dinner with those who matter most.

“Love is all, it gives all, and it takes all.”

In this issue, we lean into that sentiment. You’ll find fresh inspiration for style, thoughtful ideas for memorable moments, and a curated look at trends that bring both elegance and joy into your everyday life. Think vibrant colors, amazing accessories, effortless looks, and just the right touch of summer flair.

And while the world beyond our shores may feel uncertain at times, we hold onto hope that this season brings a renewed sense of peace, light, and forward momentum for all.

As always, this magazine exists because of you, our readers, partners, and community. Your continued support and enthusiasm are what made Style Magazines thrive month after month. We love hearing your thoughts, so don’t be shy, reach out, connect with us, and join us at our upcoming events.

Here’s to sunshine, style, and a season worth savoring.

Warmest regards,

Sarah & Sanjay Srinivasan with Sven Bode, Alex Ekbatani & Anurag Daniya

WINTER PARK

Spotlight

A look at boutique shopping, outdoor escapes, and cultural gems across the city.

By Riesa Pascal-Porro

Winter Park’s dining scene has recently been making headlines thanks to Prato, a beloved local favorite for nearly 15 years. On top of being ranked the best Italian restaurant in Florida last year, the Park Avenue eatery has announced plans to expand beyond the Sunshine State. Prato’s first new location is set to open in Bethesda, Maryland this fall with additional markets already in discussion such as Nashville in early 2027. While Prato expands outward, Winter Park itself is looking within and welcoming a variety of unique dining experiences to the area this year.

Among the newcomers are toasted-sandwich staple Potbelly and Mecatos Bakery & Cafe which boasts Colombian-inspired coffee and tasty pastry offerings. The list continues with Saucy by KFC, a new chicken tender concept that focuses on bold flavors and dipping sauces. Another new arrival generating buzz is PopUp Bagels, the viral bagel shop that Yelp crowned the number one bagel in New York City. Also joining the lineup is Oak & Stone, a relaxed pizzeria featuring a wall of self-serve beer taps, hand-crafted tavern fare, and live music in a fun, casual atmosphere. These openings point to a busy year for Winter Park dining with new concepts and familiar names continuing to shape the local food scene.?

"The walkable, open-air district routinely draws visitors with its carefully curated mix of fashion, lifestyle, and locally owned stores ranging from upscale boutiques to unique gift shops and everything in between."

Winter Park's Park Avenue has set the bar for shopping experiences and now the district is entering an exciting new chapter. A $2.5 million streetscape makeover is currently underway which marks the first major refresh the avenue has seen in nearly three decades. The multi-phase project is designed to enhance safety, aesthetics, and long-term functionality while preserving the charm that has made Park Avenue a premier shopping destination.

To minimize disruption to businesses, each portion of the project is being completed block by block. The first phase began in January and targeted the northern section of the avenue with improvements including upgraded sidewalks, curbs, and reinforced planter boxes that will double as safety barriers. One of the most noticeable upgrades will be the installation of “smart” streetlights to improve visibility in addition to decorative elements like new landscaping and street furniture.

Despite ongoing construction, Park Avenue’s diverse collection of boutiques and specialty shops remain open and as inviting as ever. The walkable, open-air district routinely draws visitors with its carefully curated mix of fashion, lifestyle, and locally owned stores ranging from upscale boutiques to unique gift shops and everything in between. With these ongoing enhancements and a strong retail presence, Park Avenue is undoubtedly headed for a bright future.

SHOPPING ON PARK AVE

FESTIVALS & EVENTS

Winter Park’s calendar is rich in local happenings with a consistent lineup of cultural festivals, seasonal celebrations, and community events. At the center of the city’s current calendar is Winter Park’s America 250 Celebration. The citywide initiative honors our nation’s 250th anniversary with programming that stretches across the spring and summer. A centerpiece of the celebration is an exhibit at the Winter Park History Museum which opens May 20 and runs through midJuly. The free pop-up experience invites visitors to explore 250 years of American history by featuring exhibits from organizations like the Daughters of the American Revolution, a WWII Veterans History Project, and student-created films about freedom and unity.

For those seeking exceptional live music, Blue Bamboo Center for the Arts is one of the area’s most acclaimed performance venues. The May lineup kicks off with a series of jazz-forward performances including the high-energy CuBop! Sextet on May 1 and a smooth jazz showcase featuring saxophonist Dee Lucas on May 2. The momentum continues with weekly “Thursday Night Hang” sessions offering a rotating mix of local and touring musicians in a relaxed, intimate setting. June 6 brings another standout performance with renowned flutist Althea René taking the stage to deliver a blend of smooth jazz, R&B, and contemporary sounds. These are just a few of the events that capture the spirit of Winter Park where history is celebrated, creativity thrives, and every month offers something worth experiencing.

"Another favorite is Winter Park Scenic Boat Tour which offers a narrated cruise through the city’s famed Chain of Lakes."

OUTDOOR RECREATION

Outdoor adventures are a defining part of life in Winter Park with lush green spaces and scenic waterways offering a peaceful escape just minutes from the city’s downtown. One such example is Mead Botanical Garden where visitors can enjoy a 47-acre urban oasis filled with winding trails, wetlands, and curated garden spaces. The park stands out for the way it blends natural landscapes with environmental education. From butterfly gardens and birdwatching spots to open areas for picnics and quiet reflection, there’s truly something for everyone. With free year-round access, Mead Botanical Garden remains a favorite for both locals and visitors looking to unwind in nature.

Another favorite is Winter Park Scenic Boat Tour which offers a narrated cruise through the city’s famed Chain of Lakes. The relaxing hour-long journey guides guests across multiple lakes and narrow, man-made canals with views of historic homes, lush shorelines, and hidden waterways along the way. It provides a memorable way to experience Winter Park through a mix of local history and gorgeous views that can’t be seen from land.

Located along the shore of Lake Maitland, Kraft Azalea Garden offers a quieter, more intimate outdoor experience. Often described as a “secret garden,” this five-acre park is known for its towering cypress trees, lakeside views, and seasonal azalea blooms. Visitors can stroll beneath shaded trees, relax on benches by the water, or admire the iconic Exedra monument that frames the shoreline. The garden’s peaceful atmosphere makes it a popular spot for photography, picnics, and even private weddings. These breathtaking spaces and other scenic parks throughout the city highlight Winter Park’s natural beauty year-round. It’s a destination where peaceful outdoor moments and scenic views are always within reach.

ARTS & CULTURE SPOTLIGHT

Winter Park’s commitment to the arts is on full display through immersive public installations, fascinating museums, and a steady stream of cultural programming. One standout example is Art on the Green, an open-air exhibition of three largescale sculptures in Seven Oaks Park. The 2026 exhibition will include Drop by John E. Bannon, Melt Piece by Maxwell Hartley, and Blue Mulberry by Lionel T. Dean. The exhibition is free and open daily, offering an easy way for visitors to engage with contemporary art outside of traditional museum walls.

The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art is another cornerstone of Winter Park’s art and culture scene. The museum showcases one of the most comprehensive collections of works by Louis Comfort Tiffany including stained glass, jewelry, and decorative arts that draw visitors year-round. Nearby, the Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens offers visitors a distinctive blend of fine art and sculpture with carefully curated displays presented in a beautiful historic setting.

The city’s connection to the arts is further strengthened by institutions like Rollins College, one of the oldest private universities in Florida. The nationally ranked college supports exhibitions, lectures, and academic programming that help keep the local cultural scene active and engaged. These various institutions, museums, and initiatives come together to give Winter Park a strong sense of identity with plenty for visitors to explore at their own pace.

"The museum showcases one of the most comprehensive collections of works by Louis Comfort Tiffany including stained glass, jewelry, and decorative arts that draw visitors year-round."

YEAR-ROUND LOCAL FAVORITES

Winter Park’s charm isn’t only found in what’s new. It’s also rooted in the traditions and events that locals return to year after year such as the Winter Park Farmers’ Market. Held every Saturday morning in the heart of downtown, the farmers’ market is widely regarded as the number one produce and plant market in Central Florida. Set against the backdrop of a historic train depot, the event brings together a vibrant mix of vendors offering fresh produce, plants, baked treats, and artisanal goods. Over the years, the market has become more than just a place to shop. It’s now a weekly gathering spot where locals come together to connect, stroll, and start their weekend on the right foot.

Just minutes away, the Winter Park Playhouse offers an intimate experience centered on high-quality productions and storytelling. Founded in 2002, the 123-seat theater is one of the few professional musical theaters in the region. It boasts year-round programming that includes a “Mainstage Series” of musicals, cabarets, and special events. From evenings spent at the theater to relaxed Saturday mornings at the market, these local favorites offer a glimpse into the rhythm of life in Winter Park and how both residents and visitors experience this beloved city year-round.

Park is not a market people stumble into. It is one they choose very intentionally."

Audra Wilks

Inside Winter Park’s Luxury Real Estate Market

We sat down with Audra Wilks to discuss the latest real estate trends in Winter Park. With more than 24 years of experience in the Winter Park and Central Florida luxury real estate market, Audra is a trusted global advisor known for her deep local expertise and relationship-driven approach. She specializes in connecting discerning buyers and sellers through both on-market and off-market opportunities, and is recognized for her strategic insight, elevated marketing, and commitment to delivering exceptional results through her work with Premier Sotheby’s International Realty.

Jonathan: What trends are you currently seeing in the luxury real estate market in Winter Park and how has buyer demand evolved over the past year?

Audra: The most meaningful shift is not just in pricing or pace, but in how the market functions. A significant portion of Winter Park’s luxury transactions are relationshipdriven, with many of the most desirable properties trading before they ever reach the public market.

Over the past year, buyer demand has not softened. It has become more strategic. Buyers are no longer simply reacting to available inventory. They are aligning themselves with advisors who can provide access to opportunities before they are widely known. This has created a layered market where what is publicly visible online represents only a portion of total market activity.

After more than 24 years working in this market, what stands out most is how consistently Winter Park rewards preparation and foresight. We are seeing a growing separation between homes that are fully realized and those that require vision. This is especially evident around the Chain of Lakes, where buyers often prioritize properties that support immediate lifestyle use, influencing pricing outcomes.

Winter Park is distinguished by its limited supply and established identity. From the brick streets near Interlachen Avenue to the walkable corridors surrounding Park Avenue, it offers a level of character that is difficult to replicate.

Jonathan: For buyers considering a move into the area, what features or lifestyle amenities are today’s luxury homebuyers prioritizing most—whether it’s lakefront access, walkability to Park Avenue, smart home technology, or resort-style outdoor living?

Audra: Luxury buyers are prioritizing ease, design, and lifestyle integration. Walkability to Park Avenue and access to the Chain of Lakes remain highly desirable, but the real driver is how seamlessly a home fits into daily life.

There is a strong emphasis on homes that feel complete, where architecture, interior design, and functionality are aligned. In neighborhoods like the Vias or Windsong, buyers gravitate toward properties that balance modern living with architectural character.

Outdoor living has become an extension of the home itself, with resort-style pools, covered lanais, and well-designed entertaining spaces playing a major role. Buyers also value dedicated spaces such as offices, wellness rooms, and guest accommodations.

Equally important is proximity to schools, dining, and cultural amenities, while still maintaining privacy at home.

Jonathan: How can sellers in the Winter Park luxury market best position their homes right now to command top value? Are there specific upgrades, staging strategies, or marketing approaches that make a significant difference?

Audra: In Winter Park, positioning often begins before a home reaches the market. Many of the strongest results come from strategic premarket exposure within a curated network of agents and qualified buyers.

This is particularly effective in areas like the Vias or along the Chain of Lakes, where demand often exists before a property is formally listed.

Presentation must meet expectations. Buyers respond to homes that feel intentional, where design and finishes are cohesive. Strategic updates to kitchens, baths, lighting, and outdoor spaces can significantly influence value.

Pricing remains critical. Homes that are positioned correctly from the outset generate stronger interest and better outcomes.

Jonathan: With many high-end buyers relocating from other states, how is the influx of out-of-state buyers influencing pricing, competition, and the types of homes that are most in demand in Winter Park?

Audra: Out of state buyers continue to shape the luxury segment. In recent transactions, there has been an increase in buyers purchasing in Winter Park as both primary residences and second homes, often influenced by Florida’s favorable tax structure.

While tax advantages may initiate the move, buyers ultimately choose Winter Park for its lifestyle. Walkability, architectural character, and a sense of permanence are key drivers.

We are also seeing a pattern where secondhome buyers transition into full-time residents, reinforcing the area’s long-term appeal.

Jonathan: Looking ahead to the rest of 2026, what opportunities or shifts do you foresee in the luxury real estate market, and what advice would you give to someone who is considering buying or selling in the near future?

Audra: The market will continue to reward preparation, access, and strategic execution.

For buyers, the advantage lies in working with an advisor who can provide visibility into what is coming, not just what is available. For sellers, success comes from thoughtful positioning and targeted exposure.

Winter Park remains one of the most stable and desirable submarkets in Central Florida, driven by intentional demand and enduring appeal.

Great Steaks, Great Cocktails & GENUINE HOSPITALITY

We caught up with Corner Chophouse Winter Park Executive Chef Nick Billings to explore what sets this neighborhood steakhouse apart in the heart of Hannibal Square. From house-butchered Certified Angus Beef and creative cocktails to warm, refined hospitality, Chef Billings shares his vision for a classic chophouse experience with fresh energy and a true sense of community.

Orlando Style: What defines the “Corner Chophouse experience” compared to a traditional steakhouse?

Chef Billings: At Corner Chophouse we serve great steaks and great cocktails in a classic steakhouse atmosphere, but we bring a fresh energy and refined level of hospitality. We honor tradition and prioritize quality ingredients, but we give ourselves the ability to color outside of the lines. The restaurant is built for gathering, whether dining for a celebration or just stopping by for a drink, and we’ve become the place where people know your name.

Orlando Style: What trends are you seeing in fine dining and steakhouse cuisine right now?

Chef Billings: I would have to say sourcing the best ingredients that you can find and the beef you are using. Everyone knows most steakhouses use prime beef, I think we separate ourselves by using Certified Angus Beef.

Orlando Style: A great chophouse is as much about atmosphere as food. How do cocktails, service, and ambiance shape the overall dining experience?

EXECUTIVE CHEF NICK BILLINGS - CORNER CHOPHOUSE WINTER PARK

Being able to bring a high-end steak house here is what winter park needed, and we’re grateful to be a part of this community.

Corner Chophouse

558 West New England Ave., Winter Park, FL 32789 cornerchophouse.com 321-972-2383

Chef Billings: I think the cocktails must pair well with the food we serve, and the bar team does a great job at matching those flavors. The dining room team loves what they do and love what we do here, and that same energy is passed to every guest that dines with us, which is amazing to see on a day-to-day basis. The dining room has great ambiance as well, the decor and dimly lit dining room makes it a great and intimate dining experience, no matter the occasion.

Orlando Style: What goes into selecting and preparing the perfect steak—from sourcing to cooking technique?

Chef Billings: I think the biggest thing is the quality of beef you are using. Certified Angus Beef is what we use, and it’s the best. We butcher it all in house, so we’re able to break the loins down from start to finish, allowing us to select the best cut of steak for the guest’s desired temperature- making it the best possible dining experience.

Orlando Style: Beyond steak, what menu items are surprising guests the most?

Chef Billings: Our most popular would have to be the Beef Carpaccio and Tuna Crudo. The carpaccio has Dijonaisse and Balsamic Glaze paired with toasted Parmesan, Crispy Garlic and micro-Arugula that bring so much flavor and leave you wanting more. For the Tuna Crudo, we use Blue Fin Tuna paired with an aged Sherry Vinegar Dressing, Watermelon Radish, Olives, and micro-Cilantro. It’s a light but refreshing bite every time.

Orlando Style: For someone planning a memorable night out— anniversary, business dinner, or celebration—what’s your ideal “Chef’s Perfect Order” from start to finish?

Chef Billings: My ideal order for a night out at Corner Chophouse would be starting with the Milk Bread, Beef Carpaccio, and Cocktail Shrimp. For the salads, I would have to go with the Petite Iceberg. If it’s just me, I would go with a medium rare Ribeye but if I’m with my girlfriend Rachel, it would have to be the 38oz Porterhouse medium rare. For sides, it would be the Creamed Spinach, Radiatori and Cheese, and Pommes Puree. Drinkwise, I love a good Old Fashioned and our Wagyu Fat-Washed Old Fashioned is the best. My go-to desserts are between our Chocolate Cake or seasonal Cheesecake.

Orlando Style: What makes Winter Park such a special place to open a high-end restaurant?

Chef Billings: I think Winter Park is very community-focused, and we feel honored to be a part of a community where people want to spend their special occasions with us. Being able to bring a highend steak house here is what winter park needed, and we’re grateful to be a part of this community.

Guests enjoyed an evening of unlimited tastings from over 35 top restaurants, wineries, craft breweries, and specialty cocktail vendors. WINTER PARK FASHION WEEK 2026

It was that time of year again, when Winter Park came to life in full-on fashion. The community gathered in anticipation, filling Full Sail Live for another year of runway moments that seamlessly blended local charm with mainstream sophistication. From beloved Park Avenue boutiques to emerging designers and recognizable names, the evening delivered a vibrant showcase of style that felt both elevated and distinctly rooted in Central Florida.

At its core, Winter Park Fashion Week is more than a fashion event. It’s a reflection of the community itself. Presented by the Grafton Family Foundation, this year’s production reinforced its reputation as a high-end

premier fashion experience, where creativity, collaboration, and purpose intersect in a way that feels both elevated and accessible.

What began as a localized celebration of Winter Park’s boutique scene has evolved into a dynamic cultural event that continues to grow in both scale and significance. As founder and co-chair Sarah Grafton explains, the event has become not only a showcase for regional fashion, but also a platform for meaningful community impact that resonates far beyond the runway.

The format of several mini runway shows set the tone for the evening, offering a fast-paced, immersive experience that highlights a wide

range of designers, boutiques, and community partners. Each segment introduced a new perspective, creating a rhythm that kept the audience engaged from start to finish.

Featuring a curated mix of Park Avenue staples and regional talent, including Claudia Gutierrez, Hemline, Labelle Furs, Collection, Bobbles and Lace, Siegels, Angel Rivera, Tuni, John Craig, Current, Arabella, Forema, Prana, Orlando Magic, and The Mall at Millenia, the show captured the breadth and depth of Central Florida’s fashion scene. The diversity on the runway reflected a broader movement within the industry, one that embraces inclusivity, creativity, and a balance between emerging voices and established names.

WHERE STYLE MEETS SUBSTANCE

Beyond the garments, the evening carried a deeper significance. Winter Park Fashion Week remains rooted in giving back, supported by a network of volunteers, local businesses, and community partners who come together each year to make the event possible and meaningful.

This year’s partnership with Runway to Hope brought that mission into sharp focus, supporting children and families facing pediatric cancer. The collaboration transformed the runway into more than a stage. It became a platform for awareness, compassion, and connection, reinforcing what

“What

makes Winter Park Fashion Week stand out is not just the fashion, but the feeling.”

Grafton describes as the heart of the event: bringing people together for a greater purpose.

“For us, this is about creating connections.” — Sarah Grafton, Founder & Co-Chair

That intentional rotation of charity partners ensures the impact continues to expand, spotlighting organizations across Central Florida while fostering meaningful relationships within the community.

What makes Winter Park Fashion Week stand out is not just the fashion, but the feeling. It’s the way the event brings people together.

Designers, sponsors, volunteers, and attendees are united by a shared commitment to support one another, creating an atmosphere where fashion becomes both celebration and catalyst.

In its continued evolution, Winter Park Fashion Week proves that fashion can be as impactful as it is inspiring, a runway not only of style, but of substance.

LAILA MAALI

STYLED FOR THE SEASON: A CONVERSATION WITH LAILA MAALI AT THE MALL AT MILLENIA

When it comes to personal style, everyone has it, we just express it differently. As trends evolve and seasons shift, so do the colors, textures, and moods that define what we wear. What makes each season exciting is not just what’s “in,” but how those elements can be reinterpreted to feel personal.

And the best part? You don’t have to keep up with every runway or fashion column to get it right. Sometimes, all it takes is the right stylist to bring your vision to life.

I recently spent time with personal stylist Laila Maali at the Styling Suite inside The Mall at Millenia, From Zimmermann to Saint Laurent, we explored the standout trends transitioning us from spring into summer and the experience of being styled one-on-one. It was, admittedly, hard not to want everything in the suite - especially the Zimmermann luna lace lantern dress (pictured on the right).

Below, Laila shares her approach to styling, what’s trending this season, and why personal styling is for everyone.

Maha: Let’s start with the experience. How does a personal styling session come together at the suite?

Laila: Every client begins by filling out a profile, which gives me insight into their style, preferences, and what they’re looking for. From there, I stay in touch leading up to the appointment, checking in about a week before and again the day prior. That way, I can curate a selection that feels aligned with their vision.

Maha: So, everything is tailored? Or are there seasonal collections already available in the suite?

Laila: Every session is fully customized. No two clients are the same, and that’s what makes this so exciting. I get to work with so many different personalities, and you can see the shift in confidence immediately - the moment they step out in an outfit that feels like them

Maha: What trends are you seeing right now as we move from spring into summer?

Laila: We’re seeing a lot of pastel tones and vibrant colors, which are perfect for this time of year. Denim will always be a staple, it never goes out of style. Polka dots are trending again, and interestingly, jelly shoes are making a comeback.

Maha: What are some of your personal favorites this season?

Laila: An oversized blazer is always one of my top picks. It’s such a versatile piece, you can throw it over anything and instantly elevate the look. I also love incorporating a pop of color. It adds personality without feeling overwhelming.

Maha: What are three timeless pieces every woman should have in her closet?

Laila: A well-fitted blazer, a classic black dress, either midi or maxi, and a great pair of denim. Those pieces can take you anywhere, whether you’re dressing them down with sneakers or elevating them with heels.

Maha: Who is personal styling really for?

Laila: It’s for everyone. I’m here to help people step outside of their comfort zone. A lot of people tend to play it safe with fashion, but style is really about confidence. When you walk into a room, your outfit should speak before you do. No matter where you’re going, you should always feel put together.

Maha: What drives you most in your role as a stylist?

Laila: My goal is to make sure all of my clients leave the suite feeling good about themselves. I love to see them leave happier than they walked in. Over time, I’ve built real relationships with my clients. I appreciate every single one of them. Everyone has their own story, and I get to be a small part of that by helping them look and feel their best.

To book a session with Laila, or another personal stylist at The Mall at Millenia you can reach out to Laila directly through her Instagram at @lailamaali, or you can visit mallatmillenia.com, navigate the Styling tab, and fill out a short profile. From there, they will get your session scheduled. Happy shopping!

Where Ambiance Meets Taste

The Tampa EDITION

by Nikolas Koenig, Nitzan Keynan, Liz Clayman & Tina Sargeant

There are some places where you notice the design right away, and then there are places where you feel it first. Tampa EDITION is definitely the latter.

From the moment you walk in, everything just feels intentional. The greenery, the lighting, the way the spaces open up all come together in a way that feels sophisticated but still really inviting. It all comes together in a way that feels effortless.

It also has this interesting balance. At times it feels very Tampa. Clean, elevated, and calm. Then there are moments where it gives you that Miami rooftop energy. A little more social, a little more vibrant. It felt like a reflection of a more modern Tampa.

A Stay That Naturally Flows

My stay moved at a pace that felt wellbalanced, with each setting offering something different without ever seeming disconnected.

I started my first evening at Azure, the hotel’s rooftop restaurant led by Chef John Fraser. The menu draws from his Greek heritage, focusing on coastal, Mediterranean flavors that come across as light and fresh. The setting itself is both indoors and outdoors, with an airy, relaxed atmosphere that makes it easy to settle in.

I would recommend the branzino and the Mediterranean sampler, which included fresh hummus, sautéed eggplant, flavorful grape leaves, and more. It was the kind of meal you can take your time with,

especially as the sun starts to set and the overall ambiance softens around you.

From there, I made my way to Punch Room, which felt like stepping into a completely different mood. It has more of a luxurious speakeasy vibe, with a cobalt blue aesthetic layered against rich wood tones. The cocktail menu centers around punch, with drinks inspired by different regions and offered as either cocktails or mocktails.

It feel is sophistication in an intimate setting. The kind of place where you slow down and truly enjoy the experience of being there.

The next morning, brunch at Market at EDITION felt like a reset. Inspired by the Italian coastline, the ground-level setting is open, modern, and welcoming. It has a family-friendly energy, with the option to sit indoors or outside, which adds to that easygoing atmosphere.

Everything came out generous and satisfying, yet still elevated. The Manzo e Patata stood out right away. The steak was cooked precisely, and paired with the potatoes, salsa verde, and scrambled eggs - it just worked.

I also had the fusilli with spicy vodka sauce and stracciatella, which was rich without being too heavy. The crispy artichokes with lemon aioli to start were light, crisp, and hard to resist.

That night, dinner at Lilac became the highlight of the stay. As a Michelin-starred restaurant led by Chef John Fraser, it reflects his European training and

Mediterranean influences through a more refined, ingredient-driven approach.

I chose the seasonal tasting menu, and a few dishes really stood out. The white asparagus velouté and the scallop carpaccio were both memorable, each one delicate yet full of flavor. Even the dessert felt thoughtfully executed. The chocolate walnut crémeux ended up being my favorite.

The dining room itself is elegantly intimate yet open, which makes the entire experience elevated while still remaining comfortable.

To end the night, I went to Arts Club, where the energy shifts again. The concept blends craft cocktails with Asian-inspired shareable dishes, all set within a multi-room layout that feels immersive.

Each room has its own character, but the one we spent the most time in leaned darker, with leather textures and a more intimate atmosphere. Overall, the venue had a slightly retro vibe, layered with different design elements that made it feel dynamic. It was the kind of place you would go with a group of friends on the weekend, where the night naturally continues.

Slowing It All Down

The spa was one of the most memorable parts of my stay. It feels removed from the rest of the hotel, offering a more holistic approach that blends global techniques with modern skincare.

I booked a signature facial using Yon-Ka Paris products, and it was exactly what I needed. It leaned more into relaxation than intensity, making it easy to fully disconnect.

What stayed with me most was what came after. The lounge felt personally curated, like a quiet extension of the treatment. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, which made the experience feel even more thoughtful.

There was a selection of teas and healthy treats, along with lounging beds featuring sheer curtains you could open or close for added privacy.

It wasn’t just relaxing. It felt like a true pause, and the ideal way to end my stay at the hotel.

A Sense of Place

What stood out most to me was how everything connects.

The greenery throughout the property gives it this soft, almost garden-like atmosphere, which balances out the more polished design. You move from one setting to another, from calm to social, from quiet to vibrant, and it never feels like a transition you have to adjust to because it just flows. There is always something happening. The hotel hosts a range of events throughout the month, from wellness experiences to seasonal gatherings, offering a balance between more intimate moments and more social settings.

It also works for different reasons depending on why you are there. For locals, it is an easy weekend escape without ever having to leave the city. For travelers, it offers a way to experience Tampa in a setting that captures where the city is right now. Polished, evolving, and still very much inviting.

By the time I left, it was not any one moment that stood out more than the others. It was how it all came together. The atmosphere. The pace.

Orlando’s Concierge IT for Business

In this exclusive Q&A, luxury travel advisor Katie Bean reveals how her signature Discovery process transforms summer travel into deeply personalized escapes defined by access, intention, and seamless execution.

The Art of Effortless SUMMER TRAVEL

LUXURY TRAVEL ADVISOR KATIE BEAN SHARES HOW TO CREATE A TRULY PERSONALIZED LUXURY ESCAPE

Jonathan: Summer is peak season for luxury travel—how do you use your Discovery process to help clients design a truly worry-free summer sabbatical that balances relaxation, adventure, and exclusivity while sidestepping crowds and logistics?

Katie: It always begins with a deep dive into the client. Not just where they want to go, but what their best travel memories actually felt like. Families rarely talk about the itinerary, they remember the moments, a long, unhurried lunch overlooking the sea, children taking their first cooking class with a local chef, completely immersed in the moment, or the ease of not having to think through a single detail.

From there, we design the rhythm of the trip. For some, that means a private villa in Provence, slow mornings, coffee in the garden, while a chef prepares breakfast, and no set plan until later in the day. For others, it might be early access into the Vatican before it opens and the crowds arrive, followed by a late lunch and a quiet afternoon back at the hotel. Most of our clients want one meaningful, well timed experience each day, with space around it to actually enjoy where they are.

Summer crowds are inevitable, so we focus on how our clients move through them. In Florence, that means starting early with a guide who knows exactly when to enter and when to step away, then returning to Four Seasons Firenze or Collegio alla Querce,

where the setting creates a true sense of retreat. We layer in experiences that feel more private, a winery not open to the public, or access at times when others are not there.

Logistics are where a trip is either elevated or completely unraveled, and this is where most people don’t realize what is actually possible.

Our clients are met at the aircraft, not at baggage claim. They are guided through security and passport control, then walked directly to their driver already in position. Luggage is handled, timing is managed, and there is no moment of waiting or figuring out what comes next.

That same level of intention carries throughout the entire trip. Each time you step outside, whether leaving your hotel or finishing an experience, your driver is already there. No friction, no checking your phone, no wondering where to go.

Guides are matched to your personality, not just how much they know, but how you like to interact, whether you enjoy engaging and asking questions, or prefer someone more discreet who anticipates your needs without saying much. Dining reservations are made with context, not just your name, so when you arrive, you are not being fit in, you are expected.

This is what our Discovery process is built around, understanding how our clients want to experience a trip, and designing every detail to support that.

Jonathan: What are the most exciting luxury destinations or experiences you’re curating for summer 2026 right now, and what hidden gems or signature touches make them feel truly one-of-a-kind for your clients?

Katie: Summer 2026 is shaping up to be incredibly rich in both depth and variety. What we are seeing is not necessarily a shift in where people are going, but in how they are experiencing those destinations, with a stronger focus on privacy, intention, and access.

Across Europe, we continue to book the classics, but with very specific positioning. Instead of the most obvious towns and islands, we guide clients toward places that feel more authentic while still delivering five star service. That might mean choosing Paros or the Peloponnese over Santorini, or heading into Portugal’s Alentejo region, where clients stay on working estates, spend slow afternoons outdoors, and enjoy long lunches sourced directly from the land.

In France, it can look like pairing Paris with Le Grand Contrôle in Versailles, where guests have private, after hours access to the Hall of Mirrors, walking through it after the palace has closed to the public, an experience most people will never have access to.

In the US, we’re seeing a strong shift toward more grounded, experiential travel, including

high-end dude ranches and nature focused escapes. For clients heading to Jackson Hole, we’re rethinking how they access Yellowstone. Instead of hours in the car, we arrange a private helicopter with a wildlife expert, landing in remote areas and spending the day actually experiencing the park.

In Bali, clients staying at Mandapa, a RitzCarlton Reserve, are not just enjoying the property, they are spending time in a local village, sitting in a family home, sharing tea and conversation, and seeing how daily life unfolds, followed by a long lunch overlooking the surrounding rice fields. It creates a much deeper connection to the destination.

Jonathan: For busy high-net-worth travelers, what are your top three practical tips for securing VIP upgrades, early check-in, resort credits, and anticipatory service at the world’s best summer properties—especially when everyone else is booking at the same time?

Katie: First, you cannot VIP yourself. The difference comes from who you book through. As a Virtuoso Partner Agency, our relationships with over 2,000 hotels and resorts allow us to add benefits like upgrades, breakfast, resort credits, and priority

placement that simply do not exist when booking on your own.

Second, details matter more than most people realize. Sharing who is traveling, and when you’re arriving, allows a hotel to prepare properly. It’s the difference between a standard check in and one of those “White Lotus” style arrivals.

That experience is not just for television. My family had that exact arrival at both Four Seasons Nevis and Four Seasons Bora Bora, arriving by boat, pulling up to the dock to see the entire team already there, lined up, smiling, waving, and waiting to greet us by name the moment we stepped off.

There is no check in desk moment. You’re welcomed and taken straight to your room, welcome drink in hand, without ever having to pause or figure anything out.

For families, this becomes even more important. Sharing the names and ages of children allows the hotel to personalize your stay, from what is waiting in the room to how the days are structured. That is what allows a hotel to move from reactive service to something far more thoughtful and anticipatory.

The worst thing you can do is say nothing. The best outcome comes from working with a travel advisor who captures these details once and ensures they are carried through every stay.

Jonathan: How do you evolve a client’s travel style across multiple trips—whether it’s a family summer adventure, a couples’ wellness retreat, or a multi-country journey—so that every summer feels more refined and indulgent than the last?

Katie: We approach travel as an ongoing relationship. Each trip builds on the last, and our role is to pay close attention to what worked and what didn’t.

For our clients, indulgence is not about doing more, it is about getting it right. A tour that felt too long, a restaurant that was beautiful but not right for their children, those details shape the next trip.

What a client wants also changes over time. A family with younger children may need more structure and flexibility, while a few years later, that same family may want more adventure or more meaningful, immersive experiences.

“Luxury today is less about excess and more about how thoughtfully a trip is designed—and how effortlessly it unfolds from the moment you leave home to the moment you return.”

How they travel also shifts depending on who they are with. A family trip looks very different from a couple’s trip. The same clients traveling as a couple may want something quieter and more design forward, like Amangiri, with a slower pace and space to disconnect.

Over time, we refine not just where our clients go, but how they travel, by listening, staying curious, and understanding what works for them at a deeper level. It is what allows us to suggest experiences and destinations they would not have thought to ask for, but that end up defining the trip.

This is why our VIP Membership exists. It creates a dedicated travel partnership, allowing us to continuously refine their preferences and build on what we have learned, so each trip feels more aligned than the last.

Jonathan: What emerging trends in luxury summer travel—whether it’s sustainability, wellness integration, or new experiential elements—are you most passionate about incorporating into 2026 itineraries, and how can readers start applying those same principles to elevate their own plans?

Katie: What excites us most is the shift toward more intentional travel. Our clients are moving away from checking boxes and toward experiences that feel meaningful and immersive.

Wellness is where we are seeing the most meaningful change. It is becoming less about a spa treatment and more about fully stepping away to reset. Rather than adding it onto a trip, we are guiding clients to go all in, choosing destinations designed entirely around how they want to feel.

Katie Bean Travels hosts annual retreats at resorts like Miraval in Arizona and Palmaïa in Mexico, each designed for a different type of reset, and knowing which is right for each client is part of what we do.

Sustainability is also evolving. Our clients are more aware of their impact, but not willing to compromise on quality. We focus on properties that do this well in practice. At places like Blackberry Farm even small details stand out, like replacing plastic bottles with beautifully designed reusable water bottles for the duration of the stay. It is subtle, but intentional, and reflective of a much larger philosophy.

Katie Bean Travels Team

Access is becoming more meaningful as well. On a recent trip to Venice, I spent a full day with the owner of New Murano Gallery, walking through the glassmaking process, sharing lunch on the water, and visiting spaces not open to the public. It completely changed how I experienced the destination.

For readers looking to elevate their own plans, start with how you want your days to feel, choose fewer places, stay longer, and build around a few experiences you will actually remember.

Luxury today is less about excess and more about how thoughtfully a trip is designed, how personally it reflects you, and how effortlessly it unfolds from the moment you leave home to the moment you return.

Finding Beauty in unexpected places

Jonathan Anderson’s Dior & the Return of Romantic Fashion

“The fountains tossed clouds of spray into the air, and just for fun made an occasional rainbow.”
— Radclyffe Hall, The Well of Loneliness

Sometimes fashion begins not with a silhouette, but with a feeling The quote chosen for the invitation to Christian Dior’s Autumn/Winter 2627 collection, designed by Jonathan Anderson, set the tone long before the first model stepped onto the runway. Its poetic message about unexpected beauty and fleeting moments of joy felt particularly relevant today. The world may sometimes feel heavy and uncertain, and we naturally gravitate towards the things that remind us of lightness, optimism, and possibility. What the quote suggests and what Anderson seems to understand instinctively is that beauty does not always arrive in grand orchestrated moments. Sometimes it just appears naturally, like a rainbow caught in a fountain spray. In fashion, that translates to pieces that feel emotional rather than just impressive, joyful rather than simply luxurious.

Jonathan has built his reputation on exactly this kind of intellectual playfulness. Known for his work with his namesake JW Anderson and his

transformative tenor at Loewe, he has consistently shown an ability to inject humor, curiosity, and humanity into luxury fashion. Whether it was his viral pigeon clutch, famously carried by Sarah Jessica Parker in And Just Like That or his surrealist accessories that turn everyday objects into converted design pieces. Anderson has demonstrated that luxury can be serious and fun.

At Dior, that sensibility feels like a refreshing evolution of the house’s heritage. While Dior has always represented refinement and poetic femininity; Anderson introduces a sense of optimism and lightness that feels particularly timely. Nowhere is this more evident than the now highly anticipated lily pad heels from his A/W26 collection. His whimsical, elegant shoes quickly became among the most talked about accessories of PFW, with buyers and boutique managers already noting a strong demand. And should anyone at Dior Orlando or Neiman Marcus Orlando be taking notes- please consider this my completely professional and

purely journalistic reminder that I am very conveniently a size 39. For research purposes, of course.

The garden motif at the center of the collection also carries deeper meaning. Gardens along symbolize the meeting point between nature and design. Its beauty shaped through intention and care. Couture operates in the same way, transforming raw materials into something structured, emotional, and lasting. This connection feels especially fitting for Dior, as Christian Dior himself was famously passionate about flowers, and often drew inspiration from his own gardens, making florals a permanent part of the house vocabulary.

Beyond the garments that show’s scenography further reinforced Anderson’s poetic vision. The seating reference the iconic green park chairs of the Jardin des Tuileries, encouraging the idea of chance, encounters, and quiet observation. It’s a reminder that Paris has always been a city where fashion exists, not only on runways, but within

everyday life. The runway traced the perimeter of the Basin Octagonal fountain, with guest seated around the water, so the collection unfolded in the round, turning the audience into part of the experience itself. A bridge, spinning the fountain at the famous crossing of the Seine River. The symbolic connections between the historic right and left banks, and the constant exchange of ideas defines Parisian culture. As Anderson himself explained, “the collection reflects the constant flow of ideas that is so typical Parisian life, and the spectacle of the everyday.”

This renewed romanticism is not happening in isolation. Current collections from houses such as McQueen and Oscar de la Renta explore florals, not as simply a seasonal decoration, but as a sculptural, architectural expression of modern femininity. Corsetry shaped like petals, dimensional embroidery, and botanical silhouettes suggest strength as much as softness. It’s femininity that feels intentional rather than delicate.

It is impossible, not to think of the famous line from The Devil Wears Prada, when Miranda Priestly coolly remarks, “Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking.” Yet today, florals do feel new again. Not because they’re unfamiliar, but because designers are reinterpreting them through craftsmanship, proportion, and storytelling. Perhaps what makes this return to romantic dressing resonate so strongly now is the emotional role fashion continues to play in our lives. In moments of uncertainty, beauty becomes more than decoration. It becomes reassurance. It becomes escapism. It becomes joy.

Jonathan Anderson seems to understand this deeply. His work consistently reminds us that fashion at its best is not simply about trends or spectacle, but it’s about perspective. It’s about helping us see beauty where we might not have thought to look before. And perhaps that is the real take away from Dior’s poetic invitation. Like the rainbow unexpectedly appearing in the midst of a fountain, fashion still has the power to surprise us, to lift us, and remind us that even the smallest moments of beauty can feel extraordinary.

Soft Tailoring & Deconstructed Elegance: Alan Chambers on the New Rules of Modern Menswear

Alan Chambers,Vice President of Operations for John Craig Clothier and its contemporary brand Current, is one of Florida’s most trusted voices in modern menswear. In this insightful conversation, he breaks down the rising trends of soft tailoring and deconstructed elegance, offering practical advice on how today’s discerning men can achieve a polished yet comfortable look — especially in Florida’s climate.

Jonathan: “Soft tailoring” and “deconstructed elegance” are terms we’re hearing more often in men’s fashion. For the modern professional, what do these concepts actually mean in practice, and how do they change the way a man should approach his wardrobe?

Alan: Soft tailoring refers to the construction of a garment. We’re seeing more sport coats made with little to no shoulder padding, along with half-lined or unlined interiors—all designed to increase comfort and ease of movement. This doesn’t automatically make a piece more casual; that comes down to fabric and finishing details. What soft tailoring really does is make tailored clothing more enjoyable to wear.

Deconstructed elegance, on the other hand, speaks to how an outfit is put together. Where men once followed strict rules around what “belonged” in a look, there’s now more freedom to incorporate unexpected pieces into a refined wardrobe. For example, instead of a traditional dress shirt and tie, you might pair a suit with an elevated silk or cashmere polo.

We’re also seeing a shift away from full suits as the default. Many men are opting for a sport coat paired with a five-pocket trouser— cut like a jean, but made in a refined fabric such as lightweight wool.

Even traditional outer layers are evolving. A sport coat might be swapped for a shacket (shirt jacket) or a swacket (sweater jacket). Both offer a more relaxed feel while still maintaining a polished, intentional look— elevated, but with a bit of personality.

Jonathan: Many successful professionals want to look polished without feeling overly formal. How does soft tailoring allow men to strike that balance between sophistication and comfort, especially in a climate like Florida’s?

Alan: Soft tailoring strikes a balance between comfort and polished sophistication. You can have a soft-tailored tuxedo that remains fully formal, but moves better and is more comfortable to wear over time. Today, fabric choice and fit make all the difference, allowing for ease and flexibility without sacrificing appearance.

During the more moderate months, soft tailoring also makes it possible to wear traditional fall and winter fabrics without the burden of heavy construction. Lighter linings—or none at all—help reduce weight, making these pieces far more comfortable while still delivering a refined look.

Jonathan: What are a few key pieces every well-dressed man should consider adding to his wardrobe this season if he wants to embrace the more relaxed, refined look we’re seeing in luxury menswear?

Alan: Every man should have a well-rounded foundation: a classic blazer, a great suit, and a range of shirting options to keep those staples versatile. Footwear matters just as much—invest in a refined loafer for more sophisticated occasions, and a quality suede or leather sneaker to dress down a suit or sport coat.

Whether off-the-rack or custom-made, the right pieces are out there—it’s simply a matter of finding what works best for you.

Jonathan: As the lines between business, social, and leisure wardrobes continue to blur, how can men transition a deconstructed blazer or soft suit from the office to an evening out without losing that elevated look?

Alan: It’s easy to transition from day to evening. If you’re wearing a suit and tie, take off the tie, add a playful pocket square, lose the lace up oxfords and throw on a loafer or sneaker.

For a dressy casual sport coat look, grab a dark-wash denim jean or a white five-pocket (white is my year-around go-to).

The rule is, look like you care no matter what you choose. If it needs to be ironed, iron it. If it needs to be hemmed or tailored, make that effort. Details matter.

Jonathan: From your perspective working with discerning clients, what are the most common mistakes men make when trying to update their style—and how can they modernize their look while still maintaining timeless elegance?

Alan: The most common mistake men make is trying to be someone they’re not. Great style starts with authenticity—but right behind that is fit. Nothing matters more than wearing the correct size and investing in proper tailoring. Pants that puddle at the ankle or sleeves that are too long (or too short) are immediately noticeable and can undermine an otherwise solid outfit.

While John Craig is a luxury store, we understand that not everyone can—or wants to—spend at that level. The truth is, you can look great at any budget. It just takes a bit of effort, attention to detail, and the right guidance.

Too often, men—or the people shopping for them—buy into trends that don’t suit their personality or body type. The key is to stay true to yourself and seek advice from someone who understands fit and style. And if the person you’re asking for help doesn’t look like they take pride in their own appearance, it’s worth finding someone else.

At the end of the day, style is always evolving. What feels timeless today may not feel the same tomorrow. The goal is to understand the difference between trends and pieces with lasting appeal—and to be willing to adapt as things change.

BENTLEY’S VIRTUOSO COLLECTION HITS EVERY NOTE

Bentley has elevated the art of in-car audio to new heights with the introduction of the ‘Naim for Mulliner’ system, now available across the exclusive Virtuoso Collection.

Building on its long-standing partnership with Naim — spanning over 15 years and more than 10,000 hours of development for the coachbuilt Batur — Bentley has refined this ultra-premium audio experience for broader availability. Originally an eye-watering $33,300 option, the system now defines the zenith of in-car sound, seamlessly blending cutting-edge technology with Mulliner’s signature craftsmanship.

At the heart of the Virtuoso Collection lies the Naim for Mulliner audio suite, featuring 18 speakers plus two upgraded drivers derived from the Batur. Developed in close collaboration with Dolby Laboratories, it delivers a thrilling multi-dimensional immersive experience powered by Dolby Atmos® technology. Sound moves freely around the cabin with remarkable clarity and depth, placing occupants inside the music. This is further enhanced by Fraunhofer Symphoria rendering, meticulously tuned for each model to create a broad, balanced soundstage.

Acoustic performance reaches new heights thanks to new Focal speaker drivers with patented ‘M’ cones. These hand-wound units offer 20% increased cone movement for superior articulation and dynamic range, while revised speaker grilles provide 26% greater acoustic transparency. Strategic use of soft Dinamica inserts absorbs unwanted vibrations, ensuring a serene listening environment.

The Virtuoso Collection pairs this sonic masterpiece with refined aesthetics. Champagne Gold detailing accents the exterior winged badges, exhaust tips, and key fob, while unique embroidery inspired by sound waves and radial rhythms adorns the cabin. Three curated themes — Soprano (light and serene with Linen and Gravity Grey hides), Tenor (balanced with Stratos and Brunel hides), and Bass (dramatic with Beluga and Gravity Grey hides) — offer

distinct moods through luxurious hides, Dinamica fabrics, and fine veneers.

Available on the Continental GT, GTC, and Bentayga — with the Flying Spur to follow later this year — the limited Virtuoso Collection transforms every journey into a private concert hall. For Bentley clients seeking the ultimate fusion of performance, luxury, and auditory artistry, this is automotive audio redefined.

Sam is a 25-year-old man who is experiencing leg pain. Sam goes to see his physician, Dr. Gray. The physician examines Sam and finds a lump behind his knee. He tells Sam that there is probably nothing to worry about, but, in an abundance of caution, Dr. Gray coordinates for a biopsy and the sample is sent to pathology. Unfortunately, the pathology report sent to the doctor confirms that Sam is suffering from a type of cancer.

The cancer is serious, but with proper treatment, Sam will have 40 percent chance of remission. Tragically, Dr. Gray fails to inform Sam, so no treatment is provided. Within six months, the cancer has invaded his bloodstream and Sam’s chance of survival is now only 1 percent.

But Sam cannot hold Dr. Gray legally responsible for medical malpractice here in the state of Florida.

A plaintiff in a medical malpractice action in Florida must show more than merely a decreased chance of survival. The plaintiff must show that the injury “more likely than not” resulted from the medical mistake.

The “more likely than not” standard is satisfied only when a plaintiff can prove there was a 51 percent or greater chance the injury or death would not have occurred but for the actions, or lack thereof, of the health-care provider. So, if the patient has less than a 51 percent chance of survival or treatability prior to the physician’s error, that patient cannot bring

legal action against that doctor. The Florida Supreme Court case of Gooding v. University Hospital Building, Inc. (1984) established the rule that in negligence actions—specifically medical malpractice—a plaintiff must prove proximate cause by showing it is “more likely than not” (greater than 50% likelihood) that the defendant’s negligence caused the injury.

Medical malpractice laws tend to favor physicians more than patients and should be revised to protect the consuming public. Patients must be able to hold physicians and hospitals responsible to make medical care safer for everyone.

STATEMENT MIRRORS

The Focal Point of 2026 Interiors DESIGN

In 2026, statement mirrors have become sculptural art pieces that elevate any interior. Oversized designs with organic shapes—like irregular puddles, soft arches, and wavy ovals— paired with textured frames in hammered metal, rattan, or brushed gold, dominate trends.

These mirrors amplify light, add depth and drama, while creating a warm, collected feel. Lean one against a wall or hang gallerystyle for instant personality in living rooms, entryways, or bedrooms.

A bold mirror effortlessly transforms your space.

THE RISE OF PALM BEACH MAXIMALISM

Bold, expressive, and joyfully layered, today’s emerging interior design trend embraces a vibrant return to personality-driven spaces. Often described as Grandmillennial or maximalist Palm Beach style, the look pairs traditional elegance with playful modern energy. Rich greens, warm citrus tones, lush florals, and whimsical animal motifs—especially tiger prints—create rooms that feel collected rather than perfectly curated.

THE RISE OF WARM, EARTHY INTERIORS

Warm, earthy palettes are redefining interiors for 2026, signaling a clear departure from the cool gray tones that once dominated modern design. Today’s spaces embrace nature-inspired hues — terracotta, olive green, clay, sand, and soft creamy ivories — creating environments that feel inviting, relaxed, and deeply personal. Designers are layering these colors across walls, upholstery, cabinetry, and even hardware finishes like warm brass to cultivate a sense of warmth and authenticity. Rather than striving for perfection, homeowners are prioritizing emotional comfort and livability, favoring interiors that feel collected over time. Designers say the shift reflects a broader desire for comfort and individuality at home. Spaces are meant to feel lived-in, optimistic, and immersive—less showroom, more sanctuary. The result is a fresh interpretation of classic design: sophisticated yet relaxed, nostalgic yet unmistakably modern.

At Connection Chiropractic, Dr. Lavergne delivers advanced, performance focused care through non-surgical spinal decompression, shockwave therapy, Class IV laser, and IV therapy. His approach focuses on optimizing function, not just relieving pain, so patients can move better, perform better, and live without limitations. He defines success through consistency, showing up daily with intention, discipline, and a commitment to improvement, while leading by example and fostering a supportive environment for his team and patients.

Outside the office, Dr. Lavergne begins each day with a workout to set the tone mentally and physically. He enjoys spending time with his fiancée, traveling to Puerto Rico to reconnect with family, and embracing Lake Nona’s lifestyle, frequenting the Wave Hotel, Boxi Park, Canvas, and Don Julio.

He is also committed to mentoring chiropractic students from Palmer College, opening his practice for shadowing to help guide the next generation. Looking ahead, he is excited to expand Connection Chiropractic with a new location inside the Lake Nona Performance Club, bringing elevated, performance driven care directly to athletes and the active community.

Dr. Luis O. Lopez Rodriguez

Traveling Chiropractor Physician

Dr. Luis O. Lopez Rodriguez’s story is one of resilience, purpose and transformation. Born in Arecibo and raised in Manatí, Puerto Rico, he grew up surrounded by coastal beauty and a strong sense of community. At age twelve, his family moved to Kissimmee, Florida in search of new opportunities. Adapting to a different culture and language was challenging, but those formative experiences instilled in him empathy, perseverance, and a deep appreciation for connection, all traits that now define his approach to patient care.

In his twenties, while pursuing his passion for performing with Walt Disney World, Dr. Lopez Rodriguez suffered a serious lower back injury that affected his strength and mobility. Through chiropractic care and physical therapy, he experienced a full recovery that rekindled his love for movement and revealed a powerful new calling: helping others heal. That turning point transformed his career path, guiding him toward medicine and holistic wellness.

He earned his degree in biomedical sciences from Interamerican University of Puerto Rico and continued his education at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Florida. Today, as a Traveling Physician with Complete Care, Dr. Lopez Rodriguez treats patients across Central Florida with auto accident and workplace injuries. He prioritizes communication, collaboration and education, so each patient feels informed, empowered, and supported throughout their recovery.

To him, success means helping patients return to the strength and mobility they had before the accident. Outside his work, he enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and recharging by the ocean, a lifelong reminder of home. His mother, Jacqueline, remains his greatest inspiration. Guided by his favorite mantra, “The top of one mountain is the bottom of the next, so keep climbing,” Dr. Lopez Rodriguez continues to evolve, blending compassion with dedication to achieve better outcomes every single day.

Lake Nona Ophthalmology

Central Florida’s Premier Vision Correction Practice — Where Surgical Excellence Meets a Boutique Experience

Lake Nona Ophthalmology, founded in 2013 by Dr. Chirag J. Patel, MD, FACS, was the first ophthalmology practice to call Lake Nona home. A Central Florida native, Dr. Patel returned to Orlando after training at the University of Florida and completing his residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City, driven by a clear purpose: to bring advanced, fellowship-trained surgical eye care back to the community he loves. Built on a deeply personal vision of treating every patient like family, the practice has grown into a leading destination for vision correction and surgical eye care across Central Florida. That same patientfirst philosophy is shared by Dr. Umar Ahmed, OD, whose expertise in Primary Eye Care and Dry Eyes complements the surgical care Dr. Patel provides.

The name reflects both place and promise, signaling a commitment to community while extending far beyond a single neighborhood. Patients travel from across the region seeking a boutique, patient-first experience grounded in precision, innovation, and trust. Using advanced technologies such as LASIK, EVO ICL, and refractive lens exchange, each treatment plan is customized to the individual, ensuring outcomes that align with lifestyle, goals, and long-term visual health.

Since its founding, Lake Nona Ophthalmology has achieved significant milestones, from serving thousands of patients to earning repeated recognition as one of Orlando’s top eye care providers. The practice has expanded its footprint, introduced complementary services, and continues to invest in stateof-the-art diagnostics and surgical capabilities. At its core is a dedicated team culture built on discipline, consistency, passion, and purpose, where every role contributes to delivering an exceptional patient experience.

Looking ahead, the practice is developing a state-of-the-art office-based surgical suite to further enhance accessibility, convenience, and precision for patients. Committed to education, outreach, and community impact, the team remains focused on one defining goal: helping patients see clearly, live fully, and trust their care completely, every single day while continuing to set the standard for personalized vision care in Central Florida.

Florida Retina Institute

Retina & Vitreous Care Specialists

Vitreo-retinal diseases affect the retina and vitreous, structures essential for capturing and transmitting visual information to the brain. Conditions associated with diabetes, genetic eye disorders, aging, or unexplained changes in vision can progress quietly, often without early warning signs. Understanding these complex conditions and knowing when specialized care is needed are critical steps in protecting long-term vision.

For over 45 years, Florida Retina Institute has been a trusted leader in the diagnosis, treatment, and surgical management of diseases affecting the retina and vitreous. Since 1979, the Florida Retina Institute has earned the confidence of patients and referring physicians by delivering compassionate, personalized care guided by clinical excellence, collaboration, and a commitment to innovation.

That commitment continues to shape Florida Retina Institute’s growth across Central Florida. A new, state-of-the-art facility in Lake Mary is currently in development to expand access, enhance patient experience, and support advanced diagnostics and treatment. An additional Orange City location coming soon will further strengthen access to specialized retina care for patients throughout the region.

Care is provided by a collaborative team of 17 fellowship-trained vitreo-retinal specialists across more than 20 locations in Florida and Georgia. Florida Retina Institute distinguishes itself through a team-based approach in which physicians work together to design individualized treatment plans. Patients benefit from the latest surgical techniques, advanced imaging technologies, and minimally invasive procedures, supported by continued investment in medical advancement and state-of-the-art care.

Florida Retina Institute is also a recognized leader in clinical trials and research. The Institute operates three dedicated clinical trials and research centers located in Orlando, Wildwood, and Jacksonville.

Participation in national and international studies provides patients with access to emerging therapies while contributing to meaningful progress in the treatment of retinal disease.

Changes in vision are often the first indication that specialized evaluation is needed. Symptoms such as blurred or distorted vision, floaters, flashes of light, or sudden vision loss should be assessed promptly by an eye care professional. When advanced or surgical intervention is required, medical professionals across the region refer patients to Florida Retina Institute for expert management of complex retinal conditions.

Florida Retina Institute treats a comprehensive range of conditions, including wet or dry macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal tears and detachments, macular holes and epiretinal membranes, retinal vein occlusions, uveitis, pediatric retinal diseases, vitreous floaters, and vitreous hemorrhage.

Looking ahead, Florida Retina Institute continues to invest in education and the future of retina care. A vitreo-retinal fellowship program planned for 2027 will further advance subspecialty training, research, and the delivery of expert care for generations to come.

Through expanding facilities, leadership in research, and continued adoption of advanced surgical techniques, Florida Retina Institute remains focused on a singular mission: preserving sight and improving lives through compassionate, personalized, state-of-the-art retina care. #positivelyvisionfocused

The Original TING

BAR DOWNTOWN ORLANDO

We sat down with the bar manager at AC Sky Bar, perched high above Downtown Orlando, to savor their iconic signature cocktail — The Original Ting.

Orlando Style: What inspired the creation of "The Original Ting," and how does it stand out as one of AC Skybar's signature cocktails on your menu?

Brian Louis: enjoy sipping cocktails that draw inspiration from various cultures. Sorrel is a beloved drink in Jamaican culture, and I aimed to give it a twist by introducing a touch of complexity and pizzaz.

Orlando Style: Can you walk us through the key ingredients and what makes the flavor profile of "The Original Ting" so refreshing and unique?

Brian Louis: The essential component of this cocktail is hibiscus, which I transform into a flavorful spiced syrup by infusing it with cinnamon, oranges, star anise, and ginger. Next, I layer in two liqueurs: sorrel and crème de cassis. The base is Wray and Nephew, a robust Jamaican overproof rum, and to finish it off, I add a splash of club soda for that refreshing touch.

Orlando Style: How do you and your team prepare and present "The Original Ting" to give guests that perfect rooftop experience, whether it's during sunset views or a lively night out?

Brian Louis: Every detail of this cocktail has been carefully considered, from the glassware to the garnishes. The pilsner glass offers a sleek and sophisticated appearance. The orchid adds a touch of tropical charm. The mint invigorates your senses, while the torched cinnamon brings a spectacular flair and “wow” factor to the drink. This cocktail truly stands out in photos and on social media, especially when enjoyed at our award-winning rooftop bar overlooking the vibrant heart of Orlando.

Orlando Style: What kind of guest feedback have you gotten on "The Original Ting," and why do you think it's become such a favorite among locals and visitors to downtown Orlando?

Brian Louis: The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. This cocktail is truly a conversation starter; as soon as guests see its presentation, the questions begin to flow. Additionally, it's always delightful to enjoy a drink that evokes cherished memories or transports you back home.
