Copenhagen consistently ranks at the top of international surveys on safety, sustainability, quality of life, cuisine, and design. Despite its worldwide prominence, Copenhagen retains a small-town feeling compared to other major European capitals.

Our 3-week, 3-credit Summer Sessions will take you out into the city to explore local neighborhoods, museums, cultural sites, organizations, and more.

This session includes a faculty-led Study Tour to another European destination.

Labs, Research, and Practicums Session
Use your summer to get practical, real-world experience abroad. Collect data in the field, collaborate with international researchers to conduct experiments, join a local startup, and put your entrepreneurial skills to the test.
June 15 - July 31
Architecture and Design Session
Spend your summer studying in Copenhagen, a city globally renowned for innovative architecture and design. This session includes a Study Tour to Finland or Sweden.

Furniture Design Session
Scandinavian furniture design has a deep history of consideration of people, culture, and society. Experience this design ethos for yourself and build a product of your own. This session includes a Study Tour to Finland or Sweden.

Arctic Experiential Studies: Greenland
Two weeks in Copenhagen. Four weeks in Greenland. One fully-funded academic adventure of a lifetime. Come see Greenland up close where you’ll connect with local communities and learn with Greenland, not just about it.
All students take the foundational course:
• Kalaallit Nunaat: Greenland’s History, Culture, and People.
Then, you branch out into your chosen subject focus course:
• Climate Change in Action
• Eco-Psychology
• Geopolitical Rivalries and Global Security
This is a highly selective program for only 20 students. Each student will have their tuition and fees covered by DIS to empower the next generation of climate advocates.

• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
• Completed at least two semesters at a four-year college or university in the U.S. or Canada by the time you participate
• Good academic and disciplinary standing
