Welcome to the 48th Biennial Convention!
On behalf of Sigma’s Board of Directors and staff, welcome to Indianapolis, our host city and home to Sigma’s headquarters. We’re thrilled to gather here with nurse leaders from around the world to celebrate excellence, share ideas, and strengthen our professional community.
The convention theme and 2023-2025 Organizational Call to Action, Represent, encourages each of us to show up as our authentic selves while advancing the collective impact of nursing. To represent means to lead with integrity, compassion and courage—and to embody the best of Sigma in how we care, collaborate, and create change.
This spirit of representation reflects the heart of our shared commitment to listen, to elevate one another, and to drive meaningful progress for the profession and the patients we serve. As we move Sigma forward, we are called to amplify our collective voice, demonstrate our value, and expand our global impact through innovation, relevance, and engagement.
While you participate in sessions and connect with colleagues at convention, we invite you to reflect on what it means to represent in your own practice and leadership. Indianapolis provides the perfect setting for inspiration and connection. Take time to learn, to celebrate, and to renew your passion for nursing leadership.
Together, we represent not only ourselves, but the values and vision that define Sigma—and the forward momentum shaping the future of nursing.
With appreciation,

In the 2023-2025 organizational call to action, Sigma President Sandra C. Garmon Bibb and the Board of Directors challenged us all to represent the best of our individuality and shared contributions to our profession. To honor those who answered this call through philanthropy, donors who made two or more donations to the Sigma Foundation for Nursing during the 2023-2025 biennium are recognized in Sandra Bibb’s President’s Circle.
Thanks to these donors, nurses from around the world continue to receive funding for vital research and professional development opportunities.

This list recognizes individuals and chapters that have made two or more donations between 16 November 2023 and 1 August 2025. Visit SigmaNursing.org/PresidentsCircle for the most up-to-date version of this list.

Congratulations to members of the Sigma Theta Tau Alpha Chapter for being honored with the Chapter Key Award for the eighth time.

For over 25 years, Interstaff has helped U.S. hospitals achieve true workforce stability by connecting them with international nurses who are ready to stay, grow, and thrive.
We go beyond recruitment. Through visa sponsorship, cultural and clinical onboarding, and ongoing support, our nurse-centric model ensures long-term retention and meaningful impact for your team, patients, and community.

Valparaiso University, we believe in furthering your vocation for your patients and yourself. Nurses who are ready to take the next step in their career will find the collaborative and supportive environment of our doctor of nursing practice (DNP) program to be the difference they need to thrive. Our DNP program prepares students as advanced practice registered nurses (APRN) and provides the education and training for family nurse practitioners (FNP) to be successful in their role through coursework and clinical immersion into practice.

Thank you to all judges and judge chairs who participated in reviewing the 2025 nominations.

Since 1922, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, or simply Sigma, has been developing and promoting excellence in nursing.
Whether it’s the cords on graduation day or the recognition on a resume, Sigma members stand out among their peers. But being a great nurse goes beyond just recognition. That’s why Sigma has created the resources and support to help share your work with globally recognized leaders in nursing research and evidence-based practice.
Learn more about benefits and resources specifically for nurse researchers at SigmaNursing.org/Research-Resources.

From networking at international conferences to participating in global leadership programs, Sigma connects you with diverse leaders from around the world. Even when you’re not attending a global Sigma event, you can connect with Sigma members on The Circle, our professional networking site.
Sigma publishes two peer-reviewed journals that you can access for free as a Sigma member. You can also read an article or listen to a webinar on Nursing Centered, Sigma’s online resource center, to expand your global perspective.
Sigma is dedicated to funding research and creating a global community of nurses who lead in using knowledge, scholarship, service, and learning to improve the health of the world’s people. Every year, Sigma sponsors and co-sponsors over 20 grants for nurse researchers.
Presenting at congress is just one way to disseminate your work. Submit a journal or Nursing Centered article or publish your work on the Sigma Repository. Sigma also provides free and discounted resources—webinars, online courses, and books—to support your writing and publishing journey.
Not a Sigma member yet? Apply to join and take advantage of the more than US $1,500+ in yearly member benefits! Learn more at Join.SigmaNursing.org.
