Noon-6pm. Pacific Avenue at S 9th St. Tacoma Pride, formerly known as “Out in the Park” is a FREE, ALL-AGES, familyfriendly and ASL-interpreted street festival featuring over 100 community resource,

food and street vendors, live performances by musicians, cirque performers, vaudeville and drag acts, as well as guest speakers and dignitaries. The Kitsap Pride Network invites you to participate in Kitsap Pride 2018 at the Evergreen Rotary Park (1500 Park Ave) in Bremerton, 11am-5p,m. This regional Pride event brings upwards of 2,000 people from the Bremerton and Kitsap Peninsula area and beyond for an afternoon celebration. Local couple featured on limited edition Smirnoff vodka bottles for Pride

To celebrate Pride month, Smirnoff selected 34 couples as part of their “Love Wins,” “Your Picture on The Smirnoff No. 21 Bottle,” Contest, including local couple Shannon Darrow and her partner Ashley.

After Shannon and Ashley heard about the Smirnoff contest, they sat down with a bottle of wine one night, picked their favorite photo of themselves together, and submitted it. Several months passed, and they didn’t think about the contest again,

until they got an email announcing they were winners.

Aside from the picture they submitted, they happen to have a cute love story.

“Our moms are super close friends, and they introduced us,” says Shannon. “Being a doctor here in Seattle and having an ER nurse that travels as my partner has been an amazing experience. We both love Seattle and everything the city has to offer. We hope to start a family here next year. When we aren’t traveling for pleasure, we are often found in El Salvador working in free clinics making sure that people have proper

access to health care.”

Congratulations to Shannon and Ashley. You make Seattle proud!

Shannon and Ashley’s picture can be found on limited edition “Love Wins” Smirnoff No. 21 vodka bottles while supplies last. One dollar from every sale of these limited edition bottles will be donated to the Human Rights Campaign.
