We official.ly opened May 25th with a pot-luck dinner attended by about 35 people OJr hours are frcrn 1 p.m. to 11 p.m., ex- ·• tending to rnidm.stlt or later oo week-ends. 'lhe day is broken into two 5 hour shifts for sta1'f1ng purposes. Staff people who are willing to make a sincere ccmnittrrent are still needed. We are starting out as a drop-in, social. center, errphasizing a haney atmosphere and friendly surroundings. A meeting rocm on the second noor is nearing canpletioo and will be open to groups throu!!tlout the can rruni ty. It will have thick carpeting throw pillows, and no 'furniture'. it may be reserved but not more than four weeks in advance. If you haven't been by yet, please stop in and look us over, leaving your suggestions carmmts and ctl11)la1nts. we are open SOOND ROOM
A group of interested persons is put ting toe,ether a sound studio in a small roan in the basement of the center. The purpose of the studio is to provide the facilities to re cord music, make master tapes for f!!JY' radio programs, and to provide a sound source for the various roans in the center. The facility will be open to all in terested persons, with the prov1sio that they know or be willing to leam proper operatioo or the equipment. Priority use will be given to those projects relating directly to the Gay Camrunity and the media (i.e. radio shows, spot ads, etc.). The studio is being assernb'led rrom a limited amount of equipment which has been donated to the center, and with borrowed equipment. Persons willing to loan or donate equipment are urged to do so. People interested in this pro ject should contact Shan, Mike, or Paul throu!!tl the center at EA2-2000.

We have a truck and the energy to pick-up any and all or the following needs. So if you can help out, please give us a call. HCY!' '10 00 NEEDS: adding mach1ne, rugs, throw pillows or just pillows, mater ials for a child care area (i.e., toys, small chairs and desks, giimes, etc.), stereo speakers, plants, ofnce equip ipent and supplies, a few table lamps and floor lamps, rugs, f!13Y newspapers, books, magazines, etc., a subscription to the· P.I: or Times (see if you got one or them laying around in your base ment), draw curtain rods. OI'HER NEEDS: ping-pa,g table, anything and everything to set up a small cortee shop, freezer, refrigerator,� stove, 8 bar stools, woridng typewriter, soap and toilet paper, waste cans, coffee, outside gardening work. People have respaxled very well so far and we have managed to accllllUlate most of our t\lnlishings for the price of a tank of l9lS for the truck. We hope you can help us out with our dwindiling 'want' list. 'lllanks. The two main needs would be for a good print dryer and a good enlarger. If saneooe is able to donate or loan these it would require minimal. effort to bring together the other necessary equ1p,ient.
