This year, for our post-Pride edition, Seattle Gay News rounded up hundreds of photos to showcase just how much fun we all had. We hope you enjoy the photo layouts on the following pages. It’s official: The crowds at nearly every official Pride event and party were bigger and better than last year. They are the hardest-working group of individuals I know, and they have earned my deepest respect and gratitude. “One of the highlights of my weekend was being a part of the rainbow Pride flag flying proudly over Seattle’s Space Needle! More Pride events in Washington state and British Columbia compiled by Rick McKinnon and Nick Ardizzone SGN Staff Writers • PRIDE AROUND WASHINGTON STATE BELLINGHAM PRIDE B PROUD From Wednesday, July 7, to Sunday, July 11, Bellingham will hold the B Proud Pride festival in Bellingham, WA. On Sunday, July 11, the Bellingham Pride Parade steps off from Bellingham High School, 2020 Cornwall Ave, at 11 a.m., and travels via Cornwall Ave. to Depot Market Square/Bellingham Farmers Market, E. Chestnut St. & Railroad Ave., for the Pride Festival, that runs noon-6 p.m. Bellingham Pride began 10 years ago under the direction of Whatcom PFLAG, as an event with roughly a half-dozen tables in Fairhaven Park on a Sunday afternoon in June. It has been in its current location of Depot Market Square (Home of the Bellingham Farmers Market) for four years, and this will be the third year in which the festival has had a parade. While most pride festivals tend to take place in June (National Gay & Lesbian Month), we recognize that we can offer a festival during July when Bellingham weather is nicer and no other prides are generally taking place. This is our 10th Anniversary of pride and we strive to be a festival everyone can be proud of. We offer events that cater to all aspects of our LGBTQQI2A community. KITSAP PRIDE 2010 Planning is underway for the Kitsap Pride celebration, to be held on Saturday, July 17 in Bremerton’s Evergreen Park (1500 Park Ave.). This year’s theme is “One World, One Heart, One Pride,” and is the international theme adopted by Interpride. The main event at Kitsap Pride will be July 17th from noon to 5 p.m. at Evergreen Park. They have a great line up on the stage, a growing list of vendors, and a new layout for the stage and food area that will surely be a hit. Go check it out. Bring chairs, blankets and make it a day. The bouncy house and children’s crafts will return to “Kid Valley,” and the youth from the Q center have a “Cirque de la Queer” experience planned. Red Star hosts the Pride Party at the Bremerton Eagles with DJ Dana Dub from Seattle dance spot Neighbours and the Seattle Eagle. Miss Tory Marchella and friends will be back with a great show! Recent crowds have been over 300, so this night should be crazy fun! Vendor applications are available and have been coming in steadily.
