Focus on Art by Ollie P Over the school term year 7 have been doing an art project on a famous painter Vincent van Gogh. They have studied various facts and figures about him while painting their own version of his sunflowers. Today I will be telling you fun facts about him and everything about his life. Vincent Van Gogh was born on the 30 March 1853 in Netherlands. • Van Gogh was into a style of art called impasto that is when you apply thick strokes of paint on the painting. • Starry night is Vincent van Gogh’s most famous painting. The painting was painted from a mental asylum and Vincent had to paint through a bar in the window. •
Vincent van Gogh never sold a painting; his mother-in-law sold them all after he tragically died in 1890.
