LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT

We are situated on the traditional lands and waters of the Petun and Wendat peoples, the Anishinabek and Haudenosaunee Confederacies, the Mississaugas of the Credit River, and many other Indigenous nations—some of whose names are no longer remembered. We acknowledge that it is a complex and meaningful privilege to live, work, and tell stories on this land.

This territory remains subject to the Dish with One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant an agreement between the Haudenosaunee Confederacy and the Three Fires Confederacy of the Anishinaabek to share and care for the resources around the Great Lakes in peace. Today, the meeting place of Tkaronto is home to many Indigenous and non-Indigenous Peoples, as well as non-human beings. We strive to uphold the spirit of the One Dish, One Spoon agreement through reciprocity, respect, and peaceful relations with all.

Tkaronto has long been a place where stories are told, knowledge is shared, and children are nurtured by community. At Story Planet, we aspire to honour and continue these values in everything we do with young people.

We recognize that this land holds deep histories of violence, resistance, and survival. As we support children and youth in finding their voices, we commit to holding space for truth, for equity, and for futures shaped by care and justice.
