Editor’s tips to make your house a home A house is the bones…but what makes a house a home is what sets it apart and lays the foundation of creating lifelong memories. Depending on your style there are many ways to decorate your home to bring warmth and character to the space.
Choose your colour palette Choosing colours can be hard but starting with a neutral tone and then adding pops of colour starts the flow for the look you are trying to achieve. A handy tip is to start with central parts of the home like the lounge room or kitchen and then move around the house.
Less is more It is so easy to get lost in décor and over accessorise the home that it starts to look like clutter. A minimalist approach sometimes creates the perfect sanctuary to come home to. Keep furniture neutral and pick 2 to 3 statement pieces placing them in significant places in the room to create flow.
Decorate smart Pillows and throw rugs, although they are a pain they create and warm ambience to any room. With these items we can play smart and introduce colour into the house which draws attention in the right ways.
