ome tunes are synonymous with the experiences they represent. For weddings, thereâs Richard Wagnerâs âHere Comes the Bride.â For birthdays, the party doesnât start
until a rousing round of âHappy Birthday to Youâ has been sung. Tomorrow, the Conestoga Class of 2017 marches onto Teamer Field to the classic graduation song âPomp and Circumstance.â This is the first time in 26 years that graduation will be held at Teamer instead of the Villanova University Pavilion.
The ceremony will be held out on the field at 6 p.m. on June 6. 45 years later, Conestoga Class of 1972 alumna and current school nurse Gail Hamman still remembers the feeling of graduating out on Teamer Field. âItâs just going to be a good remembrance for me, as a former graduate, being out
on the field,â Hamman said. âItâs just very memorable.â Hamman said that while Conestoga is lucky to have a place like Villanova regularly host the ceremony, there is a special feeling associated with graduating from the schoolâs property itself. While sheâs hoping for no rain, Principal Dr. Amy Meisinger said that having
the graduation out on Teamer Field should provide for a truly memorable experience for the seniors. âWeâre very excited,â Meisinger said. âI think having your graduation on your high school football field makes it a very special evening.â
