Mid-Year Report

Ju ly 2 0 2 5

A letter from our CEO Hello Stockton Partners, Stakeholders, and Community Members, It’s hard to believe we’re already halfway through 2025. The past six months have been full of transition, progress, and fresh momentum as our team continues to represent Stockton as a dynamic and welcoming destination. Since stepping into the role of CEO in January, I’ve had the honor of working alongside a team deeply committed to telling Stockton’s story with energy and authenticity. Together, we’ve launched new community outreach initiatives, represented Stockton across the state and country, and begun shaping the next chapter for Visit Stockton’s growth. On the lodging front, 2025 started with a mixed but encouraging trend. Compared to this time last year, we’ve seen small but steady gains in hotel occupancy, while the average daily rate and revenue per available room has faced some pressure. These patterns mirror what’s happening in many markets across California. Visitation is rebounding, but traveler spending is cautious. Our year-to-date hotel revenue is down slightly, but demand is beginning to stabilize. We remain optimistic that our continued investment in destination marketing and stakeholder engagement will help drive strong results in the second half of the year.

In the first six months of the year, our team has: • Hosted Stockton Restaurant Week’s 15th year, showcasing dozens of our local restaurants during a typically slow period. • Partnered with the Stockton Kings for Education Day, connecting students and community organizations with the energy of live sports. • Participated in CalTravel Advocacy Day, helping to amplify the voice of Stockton and San Joaquin County at the state level. • Supported a major filming project at University of the Pacific, showcasing Stockton as a dynamic filming location and creating positive economic and community impact. • Continued to highlight local businesses and voices through our “Local Partner Interviews,” strengthening our social storytelling and community connection. As we look ahead, we’re thrilled to welcome the return of Feast at the Fox on September 19th - our signature farm to table celebration on Main Street in Downtown Stockton. Thank you to our partners, board of directors, and community supporters for your continued trust. I’m proud of what our team has accomplished so far this year, and I’m even more excited for what’s to come.

Current Efforts Local Partner Interviews Our teammates Nico and Diana have been shining a light on our fantastic local businesses, organizations, artists, and community leaders with engaging short interviews on our social media channels. Turning the camera onto our local partners provides an open venue for them to deliver their Stockton story and promote their business, art, or organization to the masses. As we continue to spotlight our city, the people who live in it are front and center and will always be one of our goals.

Hollywood North Returns! In 2024, Stockton had the honor of playing a part in the upcoming Warner Bros. / Paul Thomas Anderson film One Battle After Another, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Regina Hall, Benicio del Toro, Teyana Taylor, and Sean Penn. That film hits theaters this September... but wait! There's more! In June, production crews returned to the city—specifically, UOP—to shoot an upcoming college-based series. The series name and premiere date are TBD, but it’s great to see Stockton once again being used as a setting for current productions, once again living its “Hollywood North” moniker that started back in the ‘60s. Along with strengthening Visit Stockton’s partnership with organizations across the city like UOP, projects like this create a media buzz around the city and help promote a positive image for Stockton through art, entertainment, job creation, and an economic boost during production. Coverage included ABC10, SFGate, and The Record. Moreover, a positive experience for a production here leads to future productions inquiring about filming in and around the Stockton and San Joaquin area, which our Stockton & San Joaquin Film Commission, located here at Visit Stockton, will be happy to assist them.

Looking Forward Feast at the Fox After a successful reimagining in 2024, we’re looking to do it again this year. Currently, planning for this year’s farm-to-fork outdoor get-together is in progress. Resuming with the September theme and serving up the fresh produce offerings provided by our local partners will remain standard. Additionally, the culinary majesty of The Kitchen @ StoneBrier will be on display and proceeds will go toward the San Joaquin Delta College Culinary Arts Program. Stockton Resident Survey The 2025 Stockton Resident Survey is now live at: StocktonSurvey.com This is the third round of our biannual survey (2021, 2023, and now 2025), and the analysis will once again be done by professors and students from University of the Pacific’s Eberhardt School of Business. The data we collect directly informs Visit Stockton’s priorities, shaping the programs we fund, the events we promote, and the direction we take moving forward. This anonymous survey is intended to help Visit Stockton improve the quality of life for all Stocktonians.

In Review Stockton Restaurant Week The January tradition of honoring our local food spots here in Stockton made its return! Stockton Restaurant Week’s 15th year, which took place from January 17 - 26, resulted in another successful year of community involvement and fun giveaways focused on celebrating Stockton’s deliciously diverse food scene. This annual flagship event is a vital initiative bolstering support for our local restaurants during a typically slow period in the industry. A tremendous thanks goes out to our events team and social media manager. Their hard work and combined efforts resulted in another successful showcase of Stockton’s food scene.

Stockton Kings Education Day The team took a stroll down to Adventist Health Arena in support of the Stockton Kings and our local education organizations by attending the Stockton Kings Education Day game. This February 26 morning matchup featured our Stockton Kings face-off against the Memphis Hustle. Scores of students from numerous schools in our district filled the stands and cheered on the court-conquering Kings. Community organizations and non-profits lined the concourse with educational activities for the attendees to participate in. It was a great game day filled with positive energy in a safe and friendly atmosphere.

Team Day Outing On March 7, the Visit Stockton team was out and about in Stockton, starting with a trip to the Wat Dhammararam Cambodian Buddhist Temple. After experiencing the cultural elegance on the grounds, we took a tour of the spacious rooms inside the newest addition to our hotels, the Hampton Inn Stockton. From there, we shopped at Daily Deal, enjoyed a delicious lunch at The Waterloo Club, walked the Stockton Open Air Mall & Flea Market, grabbed some freshly baked bread at Genova Bakery, and capped it with tasty treats at Gleason’s Ice Cream. It is always great when we have the chance to explore our city, and capture content for promotion.

The Write Place/Tuleburg Press Tour On Friday, April 4, the Visit Stockton team had the honor of being given a tour of The Write Place & Tuleburg Press, where we were educated on the history of printing presses and the book publishing industry. Then, we had the opportunity to get our hands dirty and ink our pages, creating our own paper by soaking old denim in water—an educational and fun day in one of Stockton’s most treasured landmarks.

Pacific Cup Men’s Water Polo Tournament April 12–13, 2025 (Banquet on April 11) The Pacific Cup Men’s Water Polo Tournament featured 7 teams competing in a high-profile event in Stockton. The event generated significant room nights along with some amazing community engagement.

PDGA Champions Cup – Disc Golf Masters April 25 – May 4, 2025 This premier disc golf event featured a multi-event schedule including the OTB Amateur, ProAM, Presidents Cup, and the Champions Cup. Held at Swenson Park this event brought room nights from guests and participants from across the globe. Television coverage included ABC10 & CBS13.

Hotel Social @ the Hampton Inn Stockton On Wednesday, May 14, we held our first Hotel Social to go over upcoming Stockton meetings and events, share an overview of Visit Stockton tools and initiatives, and introduce new opportunities for collaboration with our partner hotels’ GMs and Sales Staff. At this event we also launched a video spotlight collaboration with our hotel partners. We would like to extend our gratitude to Doug and Mary Ann for hosting us at the Hampton Inn in Stockton.

State of the City Tuesday, June 10 marked the annual State of the City address, this time held at Adventist Health Arena. Doubling as both a city council meeting and a social event, Visit Stockton was present with an information booth featuring our Visitor’s Guide, as well as information on upcoming events like StocktonCon. As usual, our booth featured fun games with free prizes for those who were willing to play. We also enjoyed a delicious lunch and heard from our city’s representatives about the accomplishments they’ve achieved so far.
