Who is on the Lord’s side?
Who is on the Lord’s side? Who will serve the King? Who will be His helpers other lives to bring? Who will leave the world’s side? Who will face the foe? Who is on the Lord’s side? Who for Him will go? By Thy call of mercy, by Thy grace divine, we are on the Lord’s side; Saviour, we are Thine.
Not for weight of glory, not for crown or palm, enter we the army, raise the warrior-psalm; but for love that claimeth lives for whom He died: he whom Jesus nameth must be on His side. By Thy love constraining, by Thy grace divine, we are on the Lord’s side; Saviour, we are Thine. Fierce may be the conflict, strong may be the foe, but the King’s own army none can overthrow. Round His standard ranging, victory is secure, for His truth unchanging makes the triumph sure. Joyfully enlisting, by Thy grace divine, we are on the Lord’s side; Saviour, we are Thine. 1. Police Memorial Service. Please note that the memorial service on Saturday 21 March has been cancelled. It is hoped that this will be rescheduled later in the year. 2. The Guild of Friendship meets tomorrow at 14.15 in the Hall when entertainment will be provided by Vocal Moves. All welcome. 3. The Guild meets in the Session Room on Monday 16 March at 19.30 for their A.G.M. 4. The Men’s Club meets in the Hall on Monday 16 March at 19.30 for their A.G.M. followed by a games night. 5. Kirk Session meets on Wednesday 18 March at 19.15 in the Session Room. Copies of previous Minutes and of the Accounts are available in the Deacons’ Room this morning. 6. Lenten Studies – The Parables. The discussion group to help us understand The Parables continues in the Session Room on Thursday evening from 19.15 – 20.30 and is chaired by Peter Gray. We concentrate on the great parables beginning with the Prodigal Son and then the Sower. Do come and join us for this traditional Lenten exercise! 7. Circle of Care Communion. If you can assist in bringing members to the Circle of Care Communion on Sunday 29 March, please add your name to the list in the Vestibule. 8. Befriend a Child – The Kilt Walk. A meeting to give information on this event will be held in the Hall on Thursday 19 March at 18.00. Please come along if you are interested in taking part on behalf of Befriend a Child. 9. Easter in Art. Exhibition on Screen brings a beautifully crafted fil exploring the Passion of Christ as depicted in art, from the time of the early Christians to the present day. Featuring artists such as Caravaggio, Raphael, Michelangelo, Leonardo El Greco, Dali, Rubens, Titian and many more,
EASTER IN ART offers a fascinating exploration into the pain, the suffering and the glory of Christ. Rehearsals for the Choir begin on 20 April, in Glasgow, Edinburgh & Perth, culminating in two concerts to be held in Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on 21 & 22 June. Registration is online. If interested please contact the Office. 11.Somebody Cares. If you are able, please bring along one item of nonperishable (canned/packet) food each week to place in the food collection bin located in the hall. 12.Intimations. Please ensure that all intimations are passed on to the Church Office by 12.00 on Wednesday each week for inclusion in the Order of Service. 13.Please let us know of: (a) Any member of the Church or a member of their family being in hospital; or (b) Any member of the Church who is unable to come on a Sunday and who would appreciate Home Holy Communion.
