Church Family News
1.
The Courts service takes place this afternoon in Constitution Court at 13.30. This is an informal service and is open to all members of St. Mark’s. You will be made very welcome.

Christian Aid Week: (a) There will be a retiral collection for Christian Aid following the service this morning. (b) The Mission & Outreach Team is hosting a Quiz Night on Monday 13 May at 18.00 in the Ashvale Restaurant, Great Western Road in aid of Christian Aid. If you don’t already have your ticket (£15) (which includes a donation) are now available from Arlene Grant, Rosalyn Rennie, Carol Main, Judy & Graham Millar, and from Carole Brazendale (Office). Please support this effort in Christian Aid Week, enjoy some fun and bring your friends. (c) Christian Aid Week envelopes are available in the Vestibule for those who would like to donate in this way.

Team Meetings: (a) The Property Committee meets on Tuesday 14 May at 19.00 in the small meeting room. (b) The Nominating Committee meets on Tuesday 14 May at 19.15 in the Session Room.

O.A.K. is hosting a Special Lunch for C.L.A.P.A (Cleft Lip and Palate Association) on Thursday 16 May 2019. Tickets costing £7 are now available from the O.A.K. Committee. Doors open at 11.00. Donations for the raffle will be most welcome. Please come along and support this worthy cause.

Bible Study. Our Bible Studies continue on Thursday 16 May at 19.30pm in the Session Room. Questions for the session are available from Carole in the office and downloadable on our website. The series will run until Thursday 20th June. Everyone is most welcome to come along and join in the discussion over a cuppa and fine piece!

Coffee Mornings: The Mission & Outreach Team are hosting a coffee morning on Saturday 18 May on behalf of Abigail Ministries. Tickets (ÂŁ2) are available from Kathleen Innes, the Mission & Outreach Team or at the door. (b) The Summer Coffee Shops start on Saturday 1 June and will continue weekly until Saturday 14 September. Please come along and support these fundraising events. Donations of home bakes and raffles will be most welcome. (a)

Soup & Pudding Lunch. The Social & Fundraising Team is hosting a Soup and Pudding Lunch after morning worship on Sunday 19 May. Tickets are available from Anne Donaldson and other members of the team. Please support this fundraising event.

Drivers - Circle of Care Communion. If you are able to assist in bringing members to and from the Circle of Care Communion on Sunday 9 June, please add your name to the list in the Vestibule.

The Tour Series 2019 takes place on Thursday 16 May. The route for this year’s tour has been changed and is detailed on the posters in the Hall and Vestibule.
10. Work Place Chaplaincy Scotland is hosting a lunch on Monday 20 May from 12.00-14.00 in the Salvation Army Citadel, 28 Castle Street. Safeguarding Training. There will be a Safeguarding Training on Wednesday 22 May at Rubislaw Church Centre, Beaconsfield Place, AB15 4AB from 19.00-21.30 (registration from 18.40). This training is aimed at those who have not yet undertaken Safeguarding Training. There will be refresher training in the autumn. If you are interested, please speak to Helen Burr before the closing date of 17 May.
12. Aberdeen City Wide Prayer Gatherings 2019. The next Prayer Gathering will be held at The Mission, St. Machar Drive on Friday 31 May from 19.30-21.00. All welcome. 13. Somebody Cares. If you are able, could you please bring along one item of non-perishable (canned/packet) food each week to place in the food collections. There are two bins, one in the Vestibule and one in the Hall. 14. Intimations. Please ensure that all intimations are passed to the Church Office by 12.00 on Wednesday each week for inclusion on the sheet. 15. Please let us know of:a) Any member of the Church or a member of their family being in hospital; or b) Any member of the Church who is unable to come to Church on a Sunday and who would appreciate Home Holy Communion.
