Christ’s College and St Margaret’s College present Sponsorship

We are delighted to present St Margaret’s College Major Production for 2026 - Les Misérables.

This iconic and powerful musical masterpiece, launching 11 May 2026, will bring together more than 30 of our students, alongside talented performers from Christ’s College, in a spectacular collaboration. Set against a backdrop of hope, resilience and redemption, Les Misérables challenges and inspires its cast and audience alike, offering our students the opportunity to immerse themselves in a production of global significance and extraordinary musical depth.

Across six unforgettable performances, audiences will experience a stirring showcase of vocal excellence, dramatic storytelling and outstanding production quality. From the soaring emotion of its score to the intensity of its characters, this production will highlight the artistic talent of our performers and the dedication of the many students working behind the scenes in stage management, lighting, costume and set design.

This production reflects the breadth of opportunity available within the performing arts at SMC.

Led by our exceptional creative teamCo-Director and Producer Anna Turner and Musical Director Amanda Woods - the production will be guided by experience, passion and a commitment to excellence. Their leadership, alongside the support of our wider arts faculty and technical crew, ensures a professional and uplifting theatrical experience for all involved.

Les Misérables promises to be a highlight of the 2026 cultural calendar. It also represents a meaningful opportunity for our community and partners to support the arts at St Margaret’s College and to invest in the confidence, creativity and growth of our young performers.

Marketing & Promotion

This year’s production will be supported by a comprehensive and highly visible marketing campaign designed to reach both our immediate school community and the wider Christchurch audience. The show will be prominently advertised on both St Margaret’s College and Christ’s College billboards, strategically positioned along Papanui Road, Rolleston Avenue, and Winchester Street - ensuring strong exposure across key commuter routes.

In addition, promotion will be amplified across both Colleges’ official social media platforms, as well as through the St Margaret’s College Old Girls’ channels, extending our reach to current families, alumnae, and the broader supporter network. Regular mentions and features will also appear in school newsletters, ensuring direct communication with our engaged parent and community audience.

The production will also receive prominent coverage in Evergreen, our St Margaret’s Community magazine, providing in-depth storytelling and visibility among our wider readership.

Furthermore, it will be featured in our annual St Margaret’s College Foundation Philanthropy Report, aligning the production with the broader narrative of community engagement, partnership, and support that underpins the life of the College.

Together, these channels create a coordinated, multi-platform promotional campaign that offers significant visibility and meaningful engagement opportunities for partners and supporters.
