SECOND LESSON: 1 Peter 3:13-22 [Mr. Dennis Yearwood]

ILLUMINATION:

READER: Now who will harm you if you are eager to do what is good? But even if you do suffer for doing what is right, you are blessed. Do not fear what they fear, and do not be intimidated, but in your hearts sanctify Christ as Lord. Always be ready to make your defense to anyone who demands from you an accounting for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and reverence. Keep your conscience clear, so that, when you are maligned, those who abuse you for your good conduct in Christ may be put to shame. For it is better to suffer for doing good, if suffering should be God's will, than to suffer for doing evil. For Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, in order to bring you to God. He was put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit, in which also he went and made a proclamation to the spirits in prison, who in former times did not obey, when God waited patiently in the days of Noah, during the building of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were saved through water. THE SERMON

PRESIDENT: Let us now stand and reaffirm our faith in our Lord Jesus Christ in the words of the Nicene Creed.

NICENE CREED [BCP page 104]

We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is seen or unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, one in Being with the Father. Through Him all things were made. For us and for our salvation He came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit He was born of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate; He suffered, died and was buried. On the third day He rose again

PRESIDENT: All glory, praise and thanksgiving be unto you, O Lord, Holy Father, Almighty, Everlasting God, you created the world and all mankind, and of your tender mercy gave your only Son Jesus Christ to take our nature upon Him, and to suffer death upon the cross, for our redemption, He made there, by His own oblation of Himself once offered, a full, perfect, and sufficient sacrifice, oblation and satisfaction for the sins of the whole world; and He instituted, and in his holy Gospel commanded us to continue, a perpetual memory of His precious death, until His coming again.

• St. Lucy Parish Church Fair

It's that time again! Last year was epic, this year we're back for more as the St. Lucy Parish Church hosts "The Ole Time Fair: Back Again!".

Join the whole family for an action-packed evening of fun, food, fellowship, and festivities on Whit Monday, 25th May 2026 from 2pm to 8pm on the St. Lucy Church Rectory grounds. Music by DJ Radar.

Tickets are $5 and you'll have plenty of chances to win lots of prizes and surprises!!! Children under 5 are free.

There will be lots of games and entertainment; food and drinks will be on sale. (See the flyer below)
