ST. LOUIS COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS PYROTECHNIC DISPLAY PERMIT

A permit for a pyrotechnic display must be issued by St. Louis County for any display within the unincorporated areas of St. Louis County, and within any Municipality (within St. Louis County) other than a Municipality that has issued a municipal permit for the display (reference SLCRO, Section 810.030). Approval from the fire protection district for the location at which the display is to occur must be obtained by the applicant before a permit can be issued by this Department. Permit for a pyrotechnic display is issued with the provision that the following rules and regulations, authorized under the terms of SLCRO Chapter 810, be fully complied with. Non-compliance with these regulations shall result in the revocation of this permit. For any display that charges admission to anyone viewing the display, a certificate of insurance shall be filed with this Office showing that liability insurance in the amount of $50,000 for one injury, $100,000 for two or more injuries, and $50,000 for any property damage resulting from such a display, is in force for the dates of the display. The signature of the applicant shall be deemed as his/her willingness to assume full responsibility for any damage to any property or any injury to any person or persons that may result from the discharging of any of the fireworks allowed under the terms of this Permit. The person in charge of the display must be at lease eighteen (18) years old and be physically and mentally competent for such responsibility. There shall be at least two operators for each display, except the kind that are permitted as signals for parades, picnics, etc. No fireworks are permitted to be discharged closer than the following: 200 feet from the closest building(s) or structure(s) 200 feet from any road, railroad or other means of public travel 200 feet from the closest spectator point 50 feet from any overhead obstruction No discharge of any fireworks shall be permitted if the wind velocity reaches a speed over thirty (30) miles per hour. All aerial displays shall be discharged in such a manor that the residue will not fall into the spectator area. The shells shall be discharged as vertically as possible, and should
