NOTICE TO AMUSEMENT INDUSTRY St. Louis County Requirements for Inflatable Devices April 2016 Effective immediately the following is the standard for inflatable amusement set-up in St. Louis County and municipalities that contract with St. Louis County for those services. The requirements are as follows: It is the operator's responsibility to have all inflatable amusement devices ready for inspection at the requested time stated on amusement permit. Devices not ready for inspection will not be allowed to operate. 1. Definition of "not ready for inspection": device not set-up and ready for intended use at time of inspection. Reasons would include not having proper equipment such as; stakes, sandbags, blowers/fans, proper extension cords or generators on site for proper set-up. 2. All tether points must have a stake or the manufacturers specified weight. If other than stakes are used, only approved and intended equipment for inflatable device hold down shall be used. Devices used for weight shall be marked to indicate weight. A manufactuer guide without tether point weight requirements shall be staked. 3. Cancelation of events. An event that requires cancelation during normal work hours between 8 am - 3 pm, M - F requires 1 hour notification prior to inspection time. Cancelation for afterhours inspection, weekend, or holiday inspection requires notification by 3 pm of last work day prior to event. No refunds if not notified per this section. Example: cancel by Friday 3 pm for Sunday event. Cancel by 3 pm Thursday for Friday observed holiday event. 4. Questions can be directed to the mechanical inspection section at 314-615-7806.
