The year-to-date numbers of reported cases of several enteric illnesses are slightly higher when compared with the median of the previous five years. Notably, cases of salmonellosis (76 vs. 62 cases, a 23% increase) and yersiniosis (12 vs. 4 cases, a 200% increase) are higher when compared with the year-to-date median of the past five years. Of note, there has been an increase in the number of cyclosporiasis cases (20 vs. 13 cases, a 54% increase), 16 of which were reported in July. ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….…………………………….…………………………………............................... Six cases of Lyme disease have been reported so far in 2023, a 500% increase from the year-to-date median of one case.

Eight hundred and ninety-eight cases of COVID-19 were reported to Saint Louis County Department of Public Health (DPH) in July 2023. This is a 64% increase from the 550 cases reported in June 2023.
