In general, the year-to-date number of reported cases of enteric illnesses are slightly higher when compared with the median of the past five years. Notably, cases of salmonellosis (51 vs. 36 cases, 42% increase) and E. coli shiga toxin + (non O157) (not serogrouped) (9 vs. 8 cases, 13% increase) are higher when compared with the year-to-date median of the past five years. Nine hundred and ninety cases of COVID-19 were reported to Saint Louis County Department of Public Health (DPH) in May 2023. This is a 40.0% decrease from the 1,639 cases reported in April 2023.
