Guide for Parents and Students

All candidates are considered for Academic Scholarship and shortlisting is based on our internal data and assessments throughout Years 5-6. Those students who are shortlisted will be invited for an additional Academic Scholarship interview in January 2026
Successful candidates are informed in the offer letter we send on Friday 13th February 2026. This information is not available before this date.




Music Scholarship Application Process
Please indicate on the 11+ Scholarship Form if you would like your daughter to be considered for a Music Scholarship. Those who have expressed interest will receive an email with a link to our Scholarship application form
On this form you will be required to submit the following supporting evidence
A summary of no more than 250 words outlining your daughter’s interest and suitability for a Music Scholarship This should include details of most recent exams taken (if any), the dates and type of exam (practical or performance), as well as the grades and awards achieved A video recording of 2 minutes duration, which showcases a performance on the first study instrument or voice. The performance can be of any repertoire and in any style, with or without accompaniment. The name of your video file must include your daughter’s full name
In addition to the above a reference will be obtained from the Head of Music at St Helen’s Prep School on your daughter’s behalf
We regret that due to the volume of applications received, if all the specified requirements outlined are not met, we will be unable to consider your daughter’s application.
Assessment Day
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to our Music Scholarship assessment day on Friday 16th January 2026. Further details of this day will be provided in December to shortlisted applicants












Drama Scholarship Application Process
Please indicate on the 11+ Scholarship Form if you would like your daughter to be considered for a Drama Scholarship. Those who have expressed interest will receive an email with a link to our Scholarship application form
On this form you will be required to submit the following supporting evidence
A self-tape (video recording) lasting a maximum of two minutes, of either a learnt script (taken from a published play) or a presentation of how you would technically support a theatrical production using set, lighting, sound, or costume
A statement of no more than 250 words outlining your interest and passion for Drama, and suitability for becoming a Drama Scholar at St Helen’s
In addition to the above a reference will be obtained from the Head of Drama at St Helen’s Prep School on your daughter’s behalf.

Assessment Day
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for assessment. Candidates will be required to attend a practical group workshop on Tuesday 13th January 2026 where they will be led in improvisation and devising work Further details of this day will follow in December to shortlisted applicants.

On this form you will be required to submit the following supporting evidence
A summary of no more than 250 words outlining your daughter’s interest and passion for chess, and suitability for a becoming a Chess Scholar at St Helen’s
A reference from the chess club your daughter attends, either at St Helen’s School or externally
We regret that due to the volume of applications received, if all the specified requirements outlined are not met, we will be unable to consider your daughter’s application.
Assessment Day
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview to discuss their application in more detail on Monday 12th January 2026 Further details of this day will be provided in December to shortlisted applicants.
